Author’s comments: This fic is entirely about the Evil Swat Kats.  No good guys in this one.  Evil Chance and Jake are great characters, and I wanted to write something involving their lives.  Thus, this story is the set up for the episode “Dark Side of the Swat Kats”.  Evil, staying evil…

Teaser: An episode devoted entirely to the Swat Kats’ evil twins.  No good Chance and Jake in this one; they’re bad…  Ever wonder what evil Chance and Jake might be thinking?  Evil T-bone and Razor is one thing, but evil Chance and Jake…

Ch1.

Driving in through the unlocked gates of the MegaKat Salvage Yard was a large garbage truck.  Its massive load of scrap metal and appliances reached over the top of the truck’s huge carrier as it slowly crept into the massive lot. The driver, a small scruffy looking Kat, looked over the wheel and around cautiously as his heart beat quickened.

“Do you think they’re here?” he asked with a shaky voice.

“I hope not, Murray,” his partner answered.  He was a huge Kat, big and round, with a giant beanie on his head.  His eyes moved rapidly from side to side, looking around in caution as the truck pulled up to the two-story garage.

Murray slowly turned the wheel hard to the right, and the truck began to turn around. As the truck came to a 180 degree turn, he straightened the wheel and looked in the rear view mirror.  “Burke, go check to see if they’re here.”

“I’m not getting out of this truck, Murray,” the big Kat responded.

“Burke, just go out really fast and check if they’re here.  If not, then we can just dump the load and get out of here.” pleaded Murray.

The huge Kat gave a look of fear but slowly moved his hand to the door handle.  Pulling it, he opened the door and stepped out.  Slowly, he moved to the back of the truck and walked up to the garage.  His heartbeat was racing; he looked around to see if anyone was at home, but saw no activity.  After looking over the garage one more time, he turned to get back into the truck.  As he turned, he jumped back, noticinig Chance Furlong standing in front of him.

Chance smiled at Burke’s fear and stepped closer to him, “Hey Burke, glad to see you.”

Burke’s hands were shaking and his feet couldn’t move.  He stood there, frozen in fear, as he answered, “Hi Chance.”

“What are you doing way out here, Burke?” Chance said as he put his paw on Burke’s shoulder.

“Um… Today is… We have… A delivery for you,” Burke managed to spit out, too engulfed by fear.

Chance took his hand off Burke’s shoulder and pulled back, “A delivery?”  Chance eyes moved from Burke to the huge truck behind him.  He studied the truck for a moment and, as his face grew upset, he looked back at Burke.  “Looks like you were going to dump ‘your delivery,’ right on our front door.”

Burke’s hands went up in defense, “No, we were just backing up and I got out to ask you where you…” He sentence was cut off my Chance’s fist in his mouth.  Burke fell down to ground and landed on his back, hard.  He looked up at Chance moving closer towards him.  He scrambled back on the ground to keep his distance, but went right into the wall of the garage.  With him sitting down, backed against the wall, Chance bent down.

“Burke, do you think you can come in here and dump your trash on our front door?” Chance said slowly.

“But, I wasn’t…” Burke pleaded, but suddenly stopped at the site of Chance pulling back his fist again.

When Burke shut up, Chance lowered his fist and smiled at Burke, “That’s more like it…”  He slowly put his paw out and dusted off Burke’s collar.  Burke was completely still.   After Chance was done, he smiled again, “So, where’s your buddy?”

Just as Chance asked, Murray’s trembling face was seen coming from behind the truck.  After a few more seconds both Chance and Burke saw that his expression was because Jake Clawson was holding him by the back of his shirt.  “Hey Chance, look what I found,” Jake said as he tossed Murray’s body over to them.  Murray landed, rolling into Burke against the wall.  Chance stood up as Jake walked over to join him.

“Hey, Murray, glad you could join the party,” Chance said with an evil grin.

Both Murray and Burke looked up at the two Kats with fear in their eyes.

“Why you two look so scared?” Jake mocked.  “What do you think we’re going to do to you?”

He bent down to their eye level to stare into their fearful eyes, “We’re going take real good care of you two…”

“Cause we *like* ya’s,” Chance finished.

Suddenly a loud car horn came from behind them and the truck.  Jake stood up and spun around to see the deputy mayor’s car pulling up behind the big garbage truck.  Inside, her face and hands were motioning get that huge truck out of my way!

“Oh, looks like we have to cut our play time a bit short.” Chance said as he looked back.  “Darn, and we were going to have fun.”  He quickly bent down as he faced them again, “If I ever catch you two planning to dump your crap on my front door again, you’re dead meat,” he said with his eyes locked on them.

“Shh… Shh…  Sure, no problem.  We would never,” Murray answered slowly.

“Good, now get out of here,” Jake said.

Burke and Murray got up and hurried back to their truck, but when Murray passed Jake and Burke passed Chance they were both tripped.  Falling on top of each other at the sound of Chance and Jake’s laughter.  They tried to shake it off as best they could, and didn’t look back as they kept going until they got in the truck.  Once inside, Murray quickly started the engine and the deputy mayor’s car moved back so they could get out.  Once they hurried out of site, the deputy mayor’s car pulled up to Chance and Jake.

“How long does it take to get in here - I’ve been waiting forever,” Ms. Briggs said as she got out of her car, the frustration and anger obvious on her face.

“What’s the problem, Callie?” Jake said as he moved closer to her.

“This piece of junk that *you* fixed for me a while ago has still got the same problem,” she said glaring at him.

Jake smiled and moved closer, “Well, that’s no problem.  We can fix it up for you and make it better than ever.”  He walked behind her and placed one paw on her hip and the other on her shoulder, pulling her into him.

“Get your paws off me!” Callie said as she removed his hold on her, turned, and slapped him in the face.

Jake stepped back after being hit, then moved toward her again with a sly grin on his face, “What’s the matter, Callie, don’t you want me to *fix* your car?”

Callie moved back from Jake but was soon backed against her car door.  As Jake got closer to her, she smacked him with her bag, knocking him back again.  “If you only knew the trouble you’re in,” she said, raising her voice.

“What, you got a *boyfriend*?” Chance asked, mocking her.  “Bring him on, not like he looks after you any ways.”  Chance walked over and was now face to face with Callie.  He put his paw up and slowly ran it down her cheek, “A shame though, such a beautiful she-Kat.”

Callie glared at his comment and pulled her paw back to smack him, but Chance saw it coming and caught her paw before it struck him.  He smiled, “And strong.”  He quickly moved in and gave her a powerful kiss.  She didn’t resist, and when he pulled back she looked up at him.  For a brief moment the expression on her face was that of satisfaction, but it violently changed back to rage as she pushed him aside.

“Get out of my way!” she yelled, “And, you better have my car fixed before tonight, or it’ll be both your tails!”  She stormed away towards the mayor’s car that was waiting for her at the front of the gate.

“Thanks a lot, Chance,” Jake said sarcastically as Callie got in the car and drove off.

Chance turned back, “Shut up, it’s not like you would ever get with her anyways.”

Jake’s face grew angry, “Oh yeah?!” he said, stepping up to Chance.

“Yeah!” Chance replied, pushing Jake back…

Ch2.

“Hey, Chance, look at this,” Jake said the next morning as he walked out of the kitchen.

“I’m busy!” Chance replied, raising his voice in authority.  He was sitting on the couch watching TV.

Jake walked over to living room, rolled up the paper, and threw it at Chance.  It landed with a hard smack against his face.  Chance grabbed the paper and was about to throw it back at Jake when Jake said, “There’s a new shipment from the MegaKat City mint to be delivered today to MegaKat National Bank.”

Chance stopped and brought the paper back down to his lap to read it.  He opened it to see the headline to which Jake was referring.  “Biggest shipment ever recorded…,” Chance read the article out loud.  “Over an estimated… *100 Billion* will be distributed to MegaKat City National Bank…”  Chance smiled and looked up at Jake, “We haven’t hit up MegaKat National for a while, looks like we need to stop by and say hello.”

“Keep reading…,” Jake answered.

Chance looked back down at the text reading more.  After a few more moments of him reading silently, he smiled.  “Since the shipment is the biggest ever attempted, it will be heavily guarded by Enforcer choppers, tanks, and jets.  Commander Ulysses Feral says, ‘We’ll be ready for anything - even those criminals, the *Swat Kats*.  I have something special planned for them if they happen to show up,’” Chance read more of the article out loud.  He looked back up at Jake, “A *surprise*.  Who does he think he’s kidding?  Nothing can stop the Swat Kats. Let’s get going.”

As Chance got up from the couch, Jake said, “You know it *could* be a trap.”

Chance stopped and looked at his partner, “I know, that’s why we’re going.  We’re going to get rid of Feral once and for all, and get rich while doing it.” He smiled.

Jake grinned back, and they both walked down to the hanger…

                                    *                                                                       *                                                                       *

“You’re going to show those Swat Kats the way straight to the slammer, aren’t you?” Feral said as he placed his paw on the side of a huge tank.  “One shot from you, and they’ll be behind bars for the rest of their nine lives.”

“Commander, we’re ready to depart,” an Enforcer lieutenant reported as he walked up to Commander Feral.

Feral turned to him and answered, “Very good, let’s go.”  With that, the Enforcer lieutenant walked back to give the signal to depart from the MegaKat City mint.  “Are you ready for this, Felina?” Feral asked as he turned and looked up at the tank.

“You’ve got it, Uncle.  This time we’ll get those Swat Kats,”  Felina answered as she stood up on the top of the tank.

“Good, you know what to do.  Good luck, Felina,” Feral said as he saluted her.

“I’ll do my best, Uncle,” Felina answered, returning the salute.  With that, Feral moved away from the tank and headed toward his jet.  Felina put on her helmet and goggles and jumped inside the giant metal beast, sealing the hatch.  After turning on all the tank’s systems, she sat back, ready to leave with the rest of the convoy.  “I hope this works,” she said to herself as she engaged the accelerator and moved forward...

                                    *                                                                       *                                                                       *

“Act 1 has unfolded rather nicely this play, but I do believe the there’s one more element that must be pushed into the spotlight before the final curtain,” Dark Kat said as he slowly sat back in his chair, reading the paper.  He eyes brightened as he got up and called out, “Come, my creeplings, we mustn’t be late for our appearance…”

            Ch3.

The TurboKat blasted out of the secret jet tunnel hidden underneath the salvage yard.  As it penetrated the open air, the tip of the wing briefly scraped the side of the tunnel wall.  A small shower of sparks appeared, then vanished on the right side as Razor looked over.  “You can’t even take off without running it something can you?” he commented sarcastically.

“Shut up, or I’ll fly this thing right up your tail!” T-bone shouted back at Razor.

“Like to see you try,” Razor said under his breath as he looked down at his flashing radar screen.  It showed a squadron of Enforcer jets on an intercept course with them.  “We’ve got company, and they’re in a hurry,” Razor said to T-bone as he switched on his targeting visor.

T-bone pushed the throttle up to full as he accelerated to attack.

“Swat Kats, you’re under arrest!” came a deep voice over their radio.

T-bone flipped up the switch and turned on the intercom, “Nice surprise, Feral…  I promise you, you’re not going to come out of this fight alive.”

“Just try to...” Feral was suddenly silenced by massive explosions on both sides of him.  Razor had launched twin firebomb missiles at the two planes on his wings during T-bone’s communication.  Feral was temporarily blinded by the explosion’s light, but soon gained his composure and moved to engage the TurboKat.  As he accelerated forward, he was forced to break hard right to avoid another Enforcer jet, out of control, sparks flying from its hull.  The plane nearly hit Feral’s and crashed right into another Enforcer jet.  The explosion sent a huge shock through Feral’s plane; he turned his head back to see the two jets engulfed in flames, starting to fall to the city below.  Quickly, he faced forward to see the TurboKat scream by, being tailed by two Enforcer jets.  Feral banked left to join the chase, and, as he started to catch up, he saw two missiles launch from the TurboKat.  They had giant razor-sharp metal teeth and on contact chewed the wings off both Enforcer jets.  Feral accelerated up to the red line, but, as he began to gain, he looked around to see an empty sky.

‘My entire squadron has been whipped out… Oh, I hope this is all worth it,’ he thought to himself.

Switching on the radio once again he called out to the TurboKat, “Swat Kats, you can take out all my back up, but you still *can’t* seem to hit your real target.”

T-bone grew furious at Feral’s overconfidence.  ‘Just you wait, Feral,’ he thought to himself…  With anger in his eyes, T-bone immediately pulled a vertical 180 degree turn and flew straight ahead at Feral’s plane.  “You dare challenge the *Swat Kats*?” he called over the radio.

“Eat this, Feral!” Razor said with an evil grin as he launched a slasher missile at the Enforcer.

Feral, knowing he had gotten them to commit, pushed down and dove his plane just under the missile and the TurboKat.

“Shoot with your eyes open!” T-bone yelled back at Razor.

“Shut up!  Just pull around and I’ll get him,” Razor growled back.

T-bone pushed the controls hard to his left, and the TurboKat banked at an enormous speed.  When they came about, he accelerated to catch up with a fleeing Feral.   Feral’s plane swerved around buildings and ducked under bridges to avoid Razor from locking on.  T-bone followed at an incredible speed; the TurboKat tilted right and left as it skimmed passed buildings.

“Keep the jet steady, T-bone!  How you expect me to target him with you constantly moving the scanners?” Razor yelled.

“Hold on, I’m almost close enough where you won't have to target to hit him!” T-bone growled back.

Feral looked back in his seat to see the TurboKat closing fast.  He faced forward, his heart racing.  “Almost there,” he said out loud.  He maneuvered under another bridge and turned left at the first skyscraper to appear in his path.   T-bone wasn’t fooled and kept closing in on Feral’s tail.  Closer and closer, Feral tried every maneuver he knew to keep his distance, but T-bone was the better pilot.  Soon, the TurboKat was close enough for Razor to fire only using his short range targeting system.  Feral, knowing he was in trouble, flew low to the ground.  ’Ten seconds,’ Feral thought to himself.

“Shoot him already!” T-bone yelled back at Razor as he moved lower to follow Feral.

“Shut up!” Razor answered to T-bone as his eyes focused inside his visor and targeted Feral’s jet.  “This one’s especially for you, *commander*,” Razor said as he pushed down the bright red button marked “Shocker Missile,”  The launch bay doors opened, and the missile flew out with enormous speed, right at Feral.

Feral looked back to see the missile on approach.  He turned back and put both paws on the stick.  “Now!” he cried out as he pulled back hard and went vertical.

The missile began to climb after Feral’s jet but was struck suddenly by a giant red laser beam.  On contact, the missile exploded in a huge cloud of sparks and fire.  T-bone, in shock, pulled back on the throttle some and tried to look to where the laser had come from.  “What the?” he yelled.

The newly formed cloud of thick smoke blocked his vision.  He tried to look down, but couldn’t see clearly.  Without warning, another shot came up from out of the wall of smoke and barely struck the right wing.  T-bone banked left and pushed the throttle back up to the red line.  He maneuvered around the cloud to get a clear look at their attacker.  As he came around, he and Razor looked down at the street below to see a two large twin gun barrels aimed at them.  The barrels were attached on the top of a massive tank.

“Try this one on for size,” Felina said from the control panel inside the tank.

“A new enforcer tank?” Razor asked.

“Feral’s surprise…” T-bone was cut off by a storm of mini explosions that engulfed the TurboKat.

“It’s a missile storm!” Razor called out.

“When did the Enforcer’s get this type of weaponry?” T-bone said as dove to try to escape the storm, but, when he came into the clearing, the giant red beam struck the TurboKat’s right wing.  It shot straight through the wing and left a massive hole in the center of it.  The jet began to spiral down, but T-bone caught control and managed to level it out.  “Crud, can’t maneuver!” T-bone called out as he tried moving the stick back and forth.

“Hey, moron, just keep the jet steady,” Razor yelled.  “Try this one on for size,” he said as he fired a volley of five piranha missiles at the tank.  They struck the tank at full velocity but were crushed into the size of small cans when they impacted, not leaving a scratch on the tank’s armor.  “Crud!” Razor said in disgust.

“Try actually firing something next time,” T-bone growled back at Razor.   As he finished his remark, the TurboKat was again struck by a laser shot, and again it hit on the right wing.  It only clipped the edge of the wing this time around, but it gave T-bone an even harder time trying to keep them in the air.  He could now only fly straight, or risk crashing.

“Get out of that thing’s range,” Razor said.

T-bone pulled up on the controls hard, but the jet reacted very slowly, climbing with a broken wing.  “Get up! Get Up!” T-bone yelled in frustration.  But, try and yell as he might, the TurboKat only climbed another thirty feet or so before it could go no further.  T-bone slammed his paw against the control panel, “Damn!”

“Moron, just get us outta here!” Razor yelled.

T-bone held the jet as steady as he could and pushed for the maximum thrust possible.  As they roared over the tank, Razor launched a smoke screen to cover their tracks and cloud the tank’s targeting systems.  Both Swat Kats smiled in relief at their obvious escape as they looked back at the cloud of smoke.  Suddenly, they heard a high-pitched “ping” sound.

“Someone’s got a lock on us,” Razor said, identifying the sound.

“Check our tail,” T-bone growled.

Razor turned to see an Enforcer jet holding steady behind them. “It’s Feral!”

“It *was* all a trap!” T-bone growled in hatred.

“Get rid of him!” Razor yelled.

“I can’t maneuver!” T-bone growled back.

“He’s gonna fire!” Razor yelled.

“I’ve got you now, Swat Kats,” Feral said with a smile on his face.  “Say goodbye to your days of crime in MegaKat City.”  He moved his paw down to the control panel to fire when, suddenly, a massive sky ship emerged from the clouds above.  It fired a missile at Feral’s jet, causing Feral to take evasive action and break his lock on the TurboKat.  The missile hit Feral’s left wing and caused the plane to spin out of control.  Popping the canopy, Feral ejected to safety as the plane plummeted to the streets below.  The sky ship then moved above the TurboKat and deployed a grappler cable, attaching itself to the topside of the TurboKat.  With the connection strong, the sky ship broke left and flew away, dragging the TurboKat along…

“Blasted, I was this close!” Feral yelled in frustration as he slowly sank down to the tank below.

“Uncle, they got away,” Felina said as Feral landed on the ground.

“I know!” Feral said with extreme frustration. He looked up at the sky with fire in his eyes.  “One of these days…”

            Ch4.

Deep inside the massive volcano, the TurboKat was set down slowly onto a landing pad.  The sky ship moved to the side and landed right beside it.  T-bone and Razor were unconscious in the cockpit.  The dark figure walked out of his sky ship and moved towards the TurboKat.

T-bone was awakened by the sound of demonic voices rumbling in front of him. When he opened his eyes, he jumped back, startled at the site of two creeplings crawling over the canopy.  “Get off my jet!”  he yelled as he pushed the button to open the canopy.  It shot back and sent the creeplings hurtling towards the back wall.

Razor was now awake and he jumped down from the jet to land face to face with the massive dark creature.  He looked up and saw the purple face looking down at him.

“Welcome, my friends,” Dark Kat said.

“What is this?” Razor said as he hesitated to strike Dark Kat.

T-bone jumped down beside Razor and faced Dark Kat, “Give me one good reason I shouldn’t kick your tail in, Dark Kat!”

“Very well, your life,” Dark Kat replied calmly.

“Is that a threat?” Razor asked, growling.

“No, it’s a fact.  I have just saved both your lives,” Dark Kat answered.  “Although, you’ll have to forgive me, I had to sedate you both when my ship connected to yours.  I didn’t want to risk you two possibly trying to resist my offer.”

“You’re sure as hell gonna get some resistance now!” T-bone yelled, moving to strike Dark Kat when he was held back by Razor.

“Hold on, you hairy oaf, better play along until we can really get at him,” Razor whispered to T-bone.

T-bone calmed down but continued to glare at Dark Kat.

“What offer?” Razor turned and asked.

“A partnership…  Forever Feral and that blasted justice machine of his have ruined my plans for the domination of MegaKat City.  And, they’ve made life for you two a hardship as well.  Why, if it had not been for my intervention, you two would have been destroyed…  Feral, however, has

many flaws, flaws that we can exploit.  His dependence on Pumadyne for technological advancements puts him at our mercy...  And, there is no one on MegaKat City that can out fly the Swat Kats…  I have developed a weapon of such mass destruction, that when deployed it would destroy the justice machine one and for all!” Dark Kat announced.

Razor and T-bone looked on in curiosity.

“With *my* genius and *your* flying, we can finally bring an end to Feral and MegaKat City!”

“What would you need us to do?” Razor asked.

“Here is what I propose, I will build my transphasic bomb, but I will need you to steal the necessary parts from Pumadyne.  In return for your help, I will also help you improve on your own technology.  In fact, I have such a sample over here,”  Dark Kat explained as he side stepped to revel a large green goblin faced missile behind him.

“What is that?” T-bone asked.

“It’s my dead-head missile,” Dark Kat replied.  “I give my supply to you in the hopes you will agree to my offer...  And, trust that there is more of this to come…,” Dark Kat smiled as he pointed to his laboratory.

Razor walked over to the missile and bent down to examine it.  T-bone followed over and stood over his partner.  Razor stood back up after a few moments and turned to quietly converse with T-bone.  “What do you think?”

“I think the *Swat Kats* don’t need help,” T-bone said.

“Yeah, but with Dark Kat’s help we have the best chance at getting Feral back,” Razor added.

“And, this time it would be for good.”

T-bone thought hard for a few seconds.  “Alright, we agree, and make sure Feral doesn’t come out of this alive,” he said.

“Agreed,” Razor complied.  “As for Dark Kat, we’ll keep out eyes open.”

“Yeah, and when this is all done, he’s next.  Don’t forget, he had a hand to play in us getting here too,” T-bone added.

“Yeah,” Razor said, grinning.

They both turned back to Dark Kat, “Alright, you’ve got a deal,” Razor said, raising his voice.

“Excellent,” Dark Kat said.  “And, I have one more thing to show you.  It’s only a prototype, but I think it might help you two with that tank of yours.”  Dark Kat walked over to a giant form covered by a huge black sheet.  He removed the sheet to expose a massive spherical shaped missile.

“What is that?” Razor asked.

“It’s a Megaton missile.  The first of its kind, its explosion has a yield capacity of 10,000 megatons of pressure.”

Both Swat Kats looked very impressed.

“You may also have this…,” Dark Kat added.  “Like I said, I can advance your technology beyond what you ever thought possible.  But, enough of talking for right now, I have a mission for you two.”

Razor and T-bone looked at him.

“Pumadyne has just developed a new Trans-conductor cable that is essential to the completion of my bomb.  I need you two to retrieve it for me.”

Razor and T-bone looked at each other, then at Dark Kat.  “Alright, we’ll get it.  But, next time, we meet on our turf.  Meet us at the MegaKat City salvage yard just after night fall,” T-bone said to Dark Kat.  “We’ll have it there for you.”

“Very well, I will send my informant to meet us there as well,” Dark Kat answered.

“Informant?” Razor asked.

“Yes, she’s my eyes and ears on the inside of MegaKat City.  She will meet you shortly before I arrive,” Dark Kat explained.  “Now, give me a few moments to fix your jet so you can complete your mission.  Come, my creeplings.”

Dark Kat quickly fixed the right wing of the TurboKat with an enriched grade of agrosite that enhanced the strength of the wing.  And, Razor and T-bone loaded up the Megaton missile and four dead-head missiles into the launch bay of the jet.  The launch pad rotated and soon the repaired TurboKat was ready to depart.  Razor and T-bone looked over at Dark Kat who was standing with his cane looking up at them.  They both nodded down to him as T-bone pushed the throttle to full and the TurboKat rocketed off out of the volcano lair towards Pumadyne.

            Ch5.

“I’m here,” the deputy mayor said, answering her phone.  With her phone to her ear, she looked around in a cautious manner, her eyes moving all over the vacant room in City Hall.  She heard a noise and turned her head back to see the janitor making his rounds. As soon as he was out of sight she said into her phone, “I understand, see you there.”

Taking the phone from her ear she turned it off and placed it in her purse.  Just then, Mayor Manx came around the corner, “Callie, do you have everything prepared for my speech to the City board in three minutes?”

“Of course, mayor, it’s all right over here,” she said, pointing to a stack of papers on a small table up against the wall.

“Oh thank heavens, Callie, you’re a life saver,” Manx said with relief.

“No problem, Mayor,” Callie responded.

The TurboKat landed softly on the outskirts of Pumadyne’s defense perimeter.  Razor and T-bone leaped out of the jet and broke through the chain fence using their mini turboblades. It was either Razor or T-bone’s fist that knocked out every guard they came upon.  When they reached the laboratory room marked “Conductors,” they entered to find a scientist holding the Trans-conductor cable in his paws.

“Hey, what are you doing…!”  The scientist was silenced by a mini octopus missile that hit him square in the chest, knocking him back against the wall.  As he hit the back wall, his right arm slammed back against the shelf.  The impact caused the scientist to scream out in pain and drop the cable.

Razor walked over and picked up the cable.  “Thanks,” he said sarcastically to the Kat on the floor.

As they exited the room, a mob of Pumadyne’s security force came running around the hallway.

“Hey, you two stop!” the leader of the group called out.

T-bone and Razor turned to see them advancing.  Both Swat Kats fired mini gas grenades at the mob.  Laughing, they turned in the opposite direction and fled from the security force now unable to see clearly and choking on the gas.

(As events at Pumadyne are under way)

“It’s okay, Uncle, you’re going to get them,” Felina said, trying to comfort Commander Feral.  “You’ve just got to be ready ‘cause you never know when they’re going to strike.  And, the tank proved very effective against them, so, if they do try anything again, they’ll have to go through that and me.”

Feral sat up from his depressed slump position on his desk, “You mean go through *us*.”

“Yeah, us,” Felina said as she patted her uncle on the back.

Feral walked over to his window and looked down at the tank, “You’ll get your second shot, don’t worry.”

Just then, a call came over the emergency Enforcer band from Feral’s desk.   “Attention all units, robbery reported at Pumadyne laboratories.  All units please be advised.”

Feral rushed over to the intercom and pushed down the call back button.

“Ensign, do you know who’s robbing Pumadyne?” he asked.

“It was called in that the Swat Kats are down there, sir,” answered the ensign.

Feral looked up at Felina, “Let’s go!” he said as the two enforcers rushed out the door.

“This place is a joke,” T-bone said as he started up the TurboKat’s engines.

“Yeah, taking candy from a baby is more of a challenge,” Razor replied.

As the TurboKat rose from the ground, Razor picked up something on the radar.  “A squadron of Enforcer jets heading our way,” he announced.

“Why don’t you show them the new toys we got,” T-bone suggested as he shoved the throttle all the way forward.

Soon, the four Enforcer jets were in T-bone’s sight and Razor’s targeting system.

“What do you know, it’s Feral,” Razor said as he recognized the lead jet.  “Let’s see how you like this.  Dead-head missiles…  Away!”

Four dead-head missiles dropped from the weapons bay of the TurboKat and flew towards the Enforcer squadron.

“What in the name off…!” Feral said as he saw the goblin-faced missiles heading towards him.

Each missile was locked onto a jet, and, when the missile got within ten feet, the green goblin face opened its mouth and spat out tar all over the jet’s cockpit.

“Kat’s alive!” Feral exclaimed as he lost visibility.  He heard a loud explosion as two jets crashed into each other behind him. Then, another explosion from his left as the third plane went into a building.  Fearing he might be next, he ejected just as his plane went into the water tower.

“Aha!” T-bone and Razor both said in satisfaction.  But, both were silenced by a giant red beam barely hitting the nose of the jet.  T-bone took evasive action and pushed down on the controls, heading in a straight descent toward the enforcer tank.

“Are they crazy?” Felina thought as the she saw the TurboKat heading straight for her.  She fired again and again, but T-bone kept evading every shot she took at them.  Closer and closer the TurboKat got to the tank.

“Anytime, Razor!” T-bone growled.

“Shut your trap!  Megaton locked and away,” Razor yelled.  The giant metal sphere flew out from under the TurboKat and straight at the tank.

“What the?” Felina said…

The impact of the missile against the tank ripped it apart.  Engulfed in flames and sparks, the twin gun barrels were crushed into small metal balls.  The control section of the tank was hurtled back against the building behind it, creating a huge whole in the frame work.

As the smoke rose and the TurboKat vanished Feral called out, “Felina!”  He descended as fast as he could and landed right by the building with the control section in it.  Ripping his parachute off, he ran over to the flaming structure and jumped up onto the hatch and released it.  The heat that surrounded him started to singe his fur.  As the hatch lifted, Feral called out, “Felina!”  It was answered by Felina’s paw reaching out of the hatch.  Feral grabbed it with a huge sigh of relief and pulled her out of the tank.  They both jumped off the tank and ran away from it just seconds before it exploded. The blast sent both Enforcers flying off their feet.

After the explosion Feral looked around and surveyed all the damage done by the Swat Kats.  Then, he looked over at Felina.  The Swat Kats escaping was now the last thing on his mind.  He could only be thankful she was alive…

            Ch6.

T-bone pulled back on the throttle as the TurboKat came to a stop and was lifted up into the hanger.  After the jet was lifted, T-bone and Razor jumped down and walked over to their lockers.  After Razor took off his helmet he tossed the cable onto a table in the corner of the room.

“I’d be more careful with that if I were you,” a voice came from behind them.

Chance and Jake wheeled around, glovatrixes armed, to find the deputy mayor standing over by the ladder.  She had a smirk on her face.  “So, the two sleazeball mechanics who can’t even fix my car are the Swat Kats,” she said, walking slowly down the steps.  As she walked over to them, she put herself close to Chance.  “Such a shame, such a strong Kat to be put to work in a garbage dump,” she said, giving Chance a seductive look.

Chance returned her seductive look with a frigid stare.  He turned around and continued to change out of his G-suit, completely ignoring Callie’s presence.  Her eyes widened in anger as he ignored her offer.  She scowled at him, “You were always nothing but a waste of time,” she said bitterly to him as he was putting on his work shirt.  She walked away in disgust.

Jake, standing confused at the display that just took place, turned to Callie as she walked away from Chance.  “What are you doing here?” the frustration apparent in his voice.

Callie turned back and faced Jake, “I was called here.”

“Called?” Jake said.  He looked at her in suspicion, then, suddenly coming to the realization, he was cut of by a deep voice from the shadows.

“That’s right, Swat Kat, my informant is the deputy mayor herself,” Dark Kat said, emerging from the shadows, followed by his creeplings.

All eyes went over to Dark Kat as he walked over to the table and picked up the conductor cable.  “Ahh yes, the first step in the destruction of MegaKat City,” he said as he smiled, looking over the cable.

Chance walked over to Dark Kat, “Okay, so we got you what you wanted, what happens next?”

“Next, we build up my laboratory in your hanger.  It will be much easier to work together if we both work out of one location.  From here I can build my bomb… And, work closely on the upgrades to your jet,” Dark Kat explained.

“So, why is she here?” Chance said, pointing to the deputy mayor.

“To lead me to you…  She’s also here to become acquainted with you two, for it’s the four of us who are going to destroy the Enforcers and rule over MegaKat City,” Dark Kat said, waving Callie to come over.  She walked over and wrapped her arms around him.  He placed his free arm around her shoulder.  “You see, she’s an invaluable asset to our success.”

Callie glanced sharply at Chance as Dark Kat held her to his side.  Chance looked over at Callie, then back to Dark Kat.  “Alright, but we’re going to need those upgrades before we go out again.  Feral’s gonna want us even more now that we killed his niece.”

“You killed lieutenant Feral?” Callie asked.

“Nobody could have survived that explosion,” Jake answered, smiling as he stood next to Chance.

“We’re going to need more of those Megatons, Dark Kat,” T-bone said.

“In time, all in time.  I promise, soon we’ll have the power to destroy the justice machine and bring Feral to his knees,” Dark Kat replied.

“And, in his grave,” Chance added.

“I have to go back to my volcano lair to bring over the necessary equipment to start construction.  I will meet you back here in a five hours,“ Dark Kat said, letting go of Callie.

“I’m not losing any sleep,” Jake growled as he walked over to the table and picked up a small rectangular-shaped pad.  “Use this key to get in,” he said, handing the key to Dark Kat.   “And, don’t wake me up.”

“Very well,” Dark Kat agreed as he took the key and headed back in the shadows and disappeared out of the hanger.

Callie looked over at Chance as Dark Kat left.  He let out a angry breath and walked over to the ladder.  He climbed up it without looking back.  Jake followed and soon Callie was alone in the messy hanger, standing as the single lit light bulb dangled from the ceiling.
