Author's Notes: This story was a gift from my good friend James L. King. Originally it was going to be something involving his current series, but it ended up never being used. One day he asked me a certain "Query" and thus this story is the result. Thanks again. Oh, and if you haven't, I suggest you check out his current series, it is amazing. Prologue: Outside MegaKat City, far away from the sight of anyone, the TurboKat slowly landed by a huge rock formation in the desert. After touchdown, the cargo bay doors opened and Razor emerged, jumping down onto the rocky desert ground. Slowly, his eyes surveyed the landscape, scanning right, then left. With not a soul in sight, he turned back to the jet. "Hey buddy, let's get moving. We've only got a bit of daylight left," he called out. "Gimme a sec, Razor, I don't want to screw this up," T-bone replied from inside the jet. Razor walked over to his partner's voice and peered inside the cargo bay to see T- bone tightening bolts and connecting wires on a large, circular shaped device. "You need a hand?" Razor asked. T-bone pushed down and tightened a giant center bolt with one turn, "Nope That's the last one. But, I am going to need your help moving this thing," he replied. Razor positioned himself to catch the machine as T-bone slowly handed it down to him. After Razor had a good hold, T-bone jumped down and grabbed the other side just in time before Razor lost control. "What's a matter, Razor, too heavy? T-bone joked. "You wanna carry this by yourself?" Razor replied. T-bone chuckled, "Good point." The two slowly made their way to the wall, and T-bone took one paw off the machine and reached in his pocket to pull out a remote control. After aiming the remote and pushing the button, a section of the rock face moved aside to reveal a secret passageway. The two Kats moved inside and T-bone called out loud, "Peppers." Suddenly, the passageway exploded with light as all the bulbs switched on. T-bone and Razor walked down to an elevator door, and Razor, his back facing the elevator button, kicked his foot back to hit the elevator button located on the wall. The doors opened and both Kats got in with the device growing heavier in their paws by the second. As the elevator went down, T-bone and Razor set the device down. "I got to hand it to you, Razor, this was a great idea," T-bone said. "Which idea?" Razor replied. "Tunneling out this cavern and making a secondary base." "It's coming along, still a lot of work though. After we install this baby, we have to dig out and connect the tunnel that'll reach out here. And, with that done, we can move faster in building the secondary research lab and launch station." "Then another jet," T-bone added. Razor looked at T-bone in disbelief, "That's won't be for a *long* time, buddy, let's just stick to one project at a time I don't even want to think about building another jet until we finish with all the other stuff we have planned first." The elevator doors opened, and both Kats picked up the device once more and walked into a large hollowed out room, its walls formed of metal and rock. They moved over the left most corner and set the device down. Razor bent down and connected the four large cables on the ground to the device's output ports. Then he reached over and flicked the red switch forward. It glowed as the device's systems started up. Razor stood up. "Alright, that should do it." He walked over to the giant video screen and turned it on. After the blue screen came up, he leaned in and changed the channel of the screen to show 'energy output' levels. As soon as he did, a huge bar graph appeared with all bars registering power levels steady at 100%. "This should last us a long time T-bone," Razor called out while he looked at the giant screen. "Hey, Razor, do you think we could make room down here for an entertainment center?" T-bone asked. Razor turned around to see T-bone looking at everything in the room except him, "What? Were you just listening to me?" T-bone chuckled at Razor, "Yeah, I saw. How long is that thing going to last again?" "Should last about 20 years," Razor answered. "Radical. I have to bring 'SpaceKat Commandos' down here," T-bone said with a smile on his face. Razor looked down at his wrist as he pulled back his long sleeve to reveal his watch. "It's 5:30, we better be heading out." "Why?" T-bone asked. "I've got a date with Callie in an hour," Razor said as started to move back to the elevator door. "Is this number 3?" T-bone asked, and Razor nodded. T-bone looked around once more then followed Razor into the elevator. Chp1: * (2 months later) * "Callie," Jake said at dinner. "Yes, Jake?" Callie answered turning her attention from a giant aquarium at her side to Jake. "You look amazing tonight... Every time I look at you, I still can't believe I'm with you," Jake said. Callie smiled and placed her paw in his in the middle of the table. "Jake, I feel the same way," she answered softly. Jake smiled, warm hearted, "I love you," he answered as the waiter came up with the check. Jake grabbed it immediately and fished out his wallet. Callie poked her head up, "How much is it?" "Two dollars," Jake responded calmly. "It's not two dollars Jake, tell me the truth," Callie said. "Does it matter?" Jake asked, giving her a wink. Callie, knowing Jake would never reveal the real amount gave up, "Yeah, guess you're right," she said chuckling. Jake smiled, and the two got up from their table and left the restaurant. Jake drove Callie home in the tow truck. "Callie, do you think people may think us strange to arrive at a five star restaurant with valet parking in a tow truck?" Jake asked as they walked up to her apartment. Callie laughed, "Does *that* matter?" Jake chuckled, "No, no it doesn't." As they walked up to her door Callie turned to Jake. "I had a lovely time tonight, Jake." Jake smiled, "It was my pleasure." "Would you like to come inside?" Callie offered. Jake grew very nervous at the offer and decided against it, backing out, "I've still got some things to work on tonight, is that okay?" It was a little lie, nothing serious. "That's fine," Callie smiled. "Goodnight, Callie," Jake said as he moved close and kissed her. After the kiss, Callie remained in his embrace for a few more moments, "Good night, Jake." Jake kissed her one more time on the forehead, then departed. As he walked away, Callie turned and opened her door, which was unlocked... Jake was just starting down the stairs when he heard a loud, "JAKE!" come from behind him. Quickly, he wheeled around and rushed back up to Callie's doorway. Maneuvering inside the apartment as fast as he could, he found Callie standing in the middle of a trashed room. "Someone's trashed your place," he said with horrific shock. "I can't believe this - who would do this?" Callie asked, upset. "I don't know..." Jake answered, looking around the room. He noticed furniture flipped over and ripped, holes smashed into walls, appliances broken, but nothing really torn open. "Doesn't look like they were looking for anything in particular... They just wrecked Everything..." Jake observed. "What are we going to do?" Callie looked at Jake. "I don't know, but, to be on the safe side, I think we should call the Enforcers," Jake said as he picked up the phone from under the broken TV. "They're capable of handling vandalism acts like this." He handed the phone to Callie. She took it slowly, holding it in her paw for a few more moments of utter shock, then started to punch in the Enforcer's number "Thank you very much, Commander Feral, I'll expect her shortly," Callie finished as she hung up the phone. She turned to Jake, feeling better, "Commander Feral is going to have a team check it out in the morning, and, until then, Lieutenant Feral has been assigned as my personal bodyguard. She's on her way right now." Jake looked at her, "I'm staying too." "Jake, you don't have time - you've got that work to get done. Don't worry, Lieutenant Feral will make sure everything is safe. And, even if things somehow get really bad, I'll know who to call," Callie said. Jake, wishing he hadn't made up that story of having work to do, decided to go along with Callie's suggestion rather than expose the lie. "Alright, but I'm not leaving until Lieutenant Feral gets here," he said. "That's fine," Called replied. When Lieutenant Feral arrived, she was welcomed at the door by Jake. "Who are you?" she asked immediately, "And, where is The Deputy Mayor?" "Jake Clawson, and she's inside. Come on in," Jake answered, moving aside. "Clawson? ...Aren't you the one of the two X-Enforcer pilots who wrecked the new Enforcer building a while back?" Lieutenant Feral asked, not stepping inside the doorway yet. "Yeah," Jake said slowly. "What are you doing here?" she asked. "I was taking the Deputy Mayor home from our date when we discovered that her placed had been trashed," Jake answered. He looked on at the questioning expression on her face, "Are you going to come in?" "Lieutenant Feral, come on in," Callie called as she walked to the doorway. With that, Lt. Feral walked into the house, ignoring Jake. 'You're welcome,' Jake thought as Lt. Feral walked straight towards Callie, who was looking at him. He mouthed, "I love you" to her and waved goodbye. She smiled and mouthed back, "Don't worry" to him before he left. As the door closed, Lt. Feral looked back at the spot where Jake had been standing, "If you don't mind me asking, how did you get involved with *him*?" she asked Callie. Callie smiled slightly, "It's a long story " "Never mind then. Do you want me to help you clean up around here?" Felina asked. * * * Jake engaged the Mega boosters on the tow truck and thundered his way back to the salvage yard as fast as he could. When he arrived, he got out and found Chance quickly. After explaining the situation, Chance and Jake both agreed that the Swat Kats shouldn't be left on the sidelines. They headed down to the hanger and got into their flight suits. After leaping into the cockpit, T-bone started up the engines and shoved the throttle up to full as the TurboKat blasted out of the secret tunnel. Once the Swat Kats arrived in Callie's district, they landed on the roof of a building two down from hers. From there they sat and waited... Chp2. "Swat Kats, come in, we need your help!" Callie called into the communicator as the picture frame right above her exploded. The canopy whipped back and Razor and T-bone jumped out immediately. "We're on our way, Ms. Briggs!" T-bone yelled as he was the last to jump out of the cockpit. The two Kats sprinted to the edge of the building and leaped onto the cable extending from roof to roof. (Razor had installed it as a precaution) As they landed and approached the end of the second roof, they aimed their glovatrixes at the roof of the Callie's building. Both grappling hooks landed with force and held strong as the Swat Kats leaped and swung into Callie's window. Razor was first to break through the glass, followed immediately by T-bone. Quickly, they detached their cables and jumped out of way as laser beams and slugs flew at them. Razor went left and T- bone went right. Razor rolled on the ground ending up next to Callie who was hiding behind a knocked over fridge. "You got here fast," she commented to Razor in relief. "We were waiting on the roof two buildings away," Razor answered. "Good thing, I don't think we can last much longer," Callie said. "Who's attacking you?" Razor asked, "I didn't get a good look when I came in." "It's the MetalliKats, they're the ones responsible for the damage earlier too," Callie said. An explosion of wood and plaster came from their near right as a laser beam shot through Callie's wood floor. "Felina's hurt!," she exclaimed, suddenly remembering. "What?!" Razor replied. * * * T-bone landed behind the couch, which was shot up and no help in protecting him from the enemies' fire. He jumped again to his right, launching a smoke bomb at his attackers, and fell behind a giant wooden bookshelf. He looked around, and through the smoke, saw a figure lying on the ground, seemingly lifeless, to the left of him. Rushing over, he found Lt. Feral lying injured with laser shots in her right shoulder and two slugs forced deep into her bulletproof vest. "Oh crud!" he exclaimed. He placed his paw on her neck to check her pulse; it was faint. "Lt. Feral, hold on," he said as he pulled her back behind the shelter of the massive bookshelf. After placing her softly to the ground, he moved aside and looked around to see who and where were the attackers. As he eyes moved along the still hazy room, he saw two pairs of glowing red eyes. He gritted his teeth in anger, "The MetalliKats," he groaned. * * * Razor looked up to see a partly cloudy room and two figures in the smoke moving away from him, heading right. 'T-bone!' he thought. "Be right back Ms. Briggs," he said as he slowly moved around the fridge and moved in behind the MetalliKats. T-bone saw as the red eyes came closer and closer. Soon, he was able to make out their figures in the smoke. He looked up to see a fan over the heads of the two metallic Kats. He aimed his glovatrix and fired a mini octopus missile at it, attempting to knock it down onto the MetalliKat's heads. "Molly, what's that?" Mac said as he looked up at the explosion. Molly looked up as well to see the fan beginning to lose its support in the ceiling. Razor ducked his body down in caution as an explosion came from the roof ahead. T-bone rolled out from behind the bookshelf and fired two scrambler missiles at Mac and Molly. "Nice try, Swat Kat," Mac said as he noticed the fan remaining in the ceiling, despite the missile shot. Right after he finished his statement, the scrambler missiles attached themselves to him and Molly, sending electric surges through their metallic bodies. After a second, he and Molly reached down and pulled off the missiles, which had only stunned them for a moment, nothing more. "Didn't you learn from last time you tried that, your puny little shocker missiles don't work on us," Mac said, laughing. The smoke was gone by now, and T-bone was in plain sight of Mac and Molly. T- bone jumped to his left as Mac fired a volley of slugs at him, one just hitting the edge of his foot. He landed, feeling the pain surge up through his body. He gritted his teeth as he pushed out the thought of pain from his mind. He looked back over the table in front of him to see the MetalliKats arguing. Suddenly, his eyes shot over to see Razor coming up from behind them. "I don't know which is worse the way you drive or the way you shot!" Molly yelled at Mac. Razor saw T-bone behind the flipped over table and motioned to him using his glovatrix for T-bone to blind both Mac and Molly with his mini cement slug launcher. T-bone nodded, and Razor turned his attention to tampering with his glovatrix. Using his mini control panel, he turned up the charge on his scramblers to over their estimated maximum output. "You think *you* could do any better!?!" Mac yelled back at his wife. T-bone jumped up from behind the table, "Both of you just SHUT UP!" he said as he fired a volley of mini cement slugs right at their heads. Both Mac and Molly's heads were whipped back as the cement impacted over their eyes. "Ah, I'm gonna kill you, Swat Kat!" Molly yelled, blindly aiming her laser paw at T- bone. T-bone leaped out of the way as Molly fired five shots randomly forward. As the MetalliKats tried to get the cement off their eyes, Razor aimed his glovatrix at them and fired two scramblers at them both. This time, the MetalliKats fell to their knees as the missiles sent huge pulses and charges of electricity through them. Molly managed to get to her feet and run her back into the wall, crushing both missiles grappled there. Her red eyes flickered as the damage was extensive. She looked over to see Mac still being shocked. Stumbling over herself, she managed to crush the missiles on her husband's back with her fist. Mac's body stopped spitting off charges, but he was now offline. She picked him up and tried to fire her laser at Razor, but it shorted out. Her motor skills finally stabilized, and knowing she was in trouble, she turned around and escaped with her husband lifeless on her shoulder. Razor called out, "T-bone, are you alright?" T-bone stood up from behind the wall leading into the next room and, as the pain returned, limped into the room with Razor. Razor ran over to T-bone, "Are you alright?" "I'll be okay, I just got hit in the foot by one of Mac's slugs," T-bone answered. Then, suddenly remembering, "Felina, she's hurt!" He pointed to behind the tipped over bookshelf and moved as fast as he could over to it. Razor leaped over the mess in the room and reached her first. He bent down and checked her pulse. She was unconscious, but her pulse was still there, however, very faint. He examined the laser shot to her shoulder. T-bone arrived and ripped off one sleeve of his flight suit, placing it on the wound to stop the bleeding. Razor took out a small blade and cut through the front part of her vest. He slowly removed it, taking the slugs with it. As it was cleared away they could both see that the vest had stopped the slugs from going inside her, but massive indentations were now on her chest. T-bone put his head down to her chest and listening to her breathing. "She's got two broken ribs, possibly three. And, I'm not sure if those slugs didn't cause any internal damage," he said. "We've got to get her to a hospital," Razor said. T-bone lifted his head up, "Yeah and quickly," he replied. He tried to stand up, but his foot gave a sharp pain and he stopped moving. "It's alright, I'll get the TurboKat," Razor said, "Just stay here and watch over her." "Alright, "T-bone agreed as he continued to tend to Lt. Feral's wounds. Razor got up and quickly moved towards the window. Just as he got around the bookcase, he saw Callie walking towards him form across the room. "Is Felina alright?" she asked. "We have to get her to a hospital, c'mon," Razor said as he motioned for Callie to follow him. She did and, when Razor reached the open window, he motioned to Callie, "Get on my back," he said as she complied. "Hold on, Callie," Razor said as he aimed his glovatrix at a tall telephone pole on the roof of the neighboring building. Callie held on tight as the two flew through the air and landed on the neighboring roof. She let go and followed Razor as the two ran to edge of the roof. "One more time," Razor said, motioning to Callie. She again jumped and held on tightly as the two were pulled over to the roof with the TurboKat parked on it. As they landed, Callie let go as Razor quickly jumped up on the wing. Reaching down, he helped Callie up onto to jet and into his seat, after which he jumped into the pilot's seat and closed the canopy. He started up the engines and they took off, slowly hovering over to Callie's apartment window. As Razor brought the TurboKat into a steady hover, he opened the canopy and got out of T-bone's seat. T-bone was in the window with Lt. Feral in his arms. He jumped on the wing and gritted his teeth as his landing caused more pain from his foot. He walked over to the cockpit and towards Razor's seat. "Callie, pull back the lever on your right," Razor instructed. Callie did so, and the seat shot back to reveal the cargo bay underneath. Razor jumped down inside and reached up as T-bone slowly set Lt. Feral down into his arms. Razor, now with Lt. Feral, slowly set her down onto a soft pad. She remained unconscious as Razor put a bag of foam padding under her head to act as a pillow. With Lt. Feral safe and secure, he climbed out of the cargo bay and into his seat with Callie pressed for space behind him. Suddenly, there came a crash from around the street corner, and the MetalliKat Express violently rushed around, launching a volley of missiles at the vulnerable TurboKat. T-bone leaped into his seat and disengaged the hover mode as quick as he could, but not before a missile struck one of the back fins of the TurboKat. "Curse you, Swat Kats!" Molly yelled as she fired more ammunition at the TurboKat. "T-bone, get us out of here!" Razor yelled as the impact of the missile shook the jet. "I'm working on it!" T-bone yelled. He started to ascend as the right engine suddenly bursted into flames after being shot up by Molly. "T-bone, Shut Down Engine 2! Shut Down Engine 2!" Razor yelled, looking back at the explosion. T-bone shut it down, and the jet dropped altitude as the result. "Razor, Engine 3 isn't working! She doesn't have enough power to keep us up on one engine," T-bone said. "Ah Crud! Engine 3's fuel line is gone - there's no way to get it started," Razor said. "Engaging jet busters!" T-bone yelled. He pressed the button on his control panel, but the four boosters didn't come out and the TurboKat still was descending. "Crud, power to the boosters has been cut off too. T-bone, you're going to have to push Engine 1 for all it's got!" Razor explained. "C'mon baby, just stay up, for old T-bone," T-bone said to himself as he maxed out Engine 1's fuel input. The single engine's fire exploded further out from the jet as all the fuel was forced into it. The TurboKat stopped descending, but it didn't have enough thrust to gain any altitude, "Razor that's the best I can do, take your best shot." Razor targeted the MetalliKat Express and fired the cement machine gun. The enormous cement slugs clogged the intakes and missile launchers on the hover car, causing it to halt its attack. Molly hit the steering wheel with her fist in frustration, then she quickly moved her eyes across the weapons panel until she found the bright green button. She pushed it, and a small missile port opened, not covered in cement, and out fired a missile no bigger than the size of her thumb. It attached itself to the bottom hull of the TurboKat before T-bone flew off out of range. Molly then turned her eyes to the screen in the center of her weapons panel to see a flashing green light blinking as it moved away. Mac eyes slowly flickered back on as he let out an aching grown from the headache he had received due to Razor's scramblers. He looked over at Molly staring at the tiny screen. "Molly...What happened?" She turned to him and answered, "Those blasted Swat Kats almost did you in, but I got 'em back good. And, as soon as you're back to normal, we'll follow this thing back to where they're going and do away with *them* and the Deputy Mayor, once and for all." Chp3. "Hold on!" T-bone called to the back as he descended into the secret runway under the salvage yard. The jet rocked back and forth, T-bone fought with all his might to keep her steady. Landing on half a tank, T-bone pushed down on the brake as hard as he could to stop before running into the wall. The TurboKat skidded the last hundred feet as it finally came to a halt on the turntable. T-bone let go of the controls and leaned back, taking a huge sigh of relief with him. As the TurboKat was raised to the upper level of the hanger, Razor pulled back his seat again and jumped down into the cargo bay to check on Lt. Feral. She was still lying unconscious, and amazing enough, she didn't seem to be that disturbed from the attack. "What happened to the hospital?" Callie asked Razor as she looked down inside the cargo bay. "We wouldn't have made to hospital," T-bone answered as he looked back at Callie. His gaze then looked back at the ripped up fin and busted up engine. "We've got an emergency med kit here, but we won't be able to get her to a hospital until we can get the TurboKat repaired." T-bone looked down at Razor, "How is she?" Razor looked up, "Amazingly, she wasn't banged up from the missile attack, and her pulse has gotten a bit stronger. But, she still needs medical attention as soon as possible," he answered. "Give her to me and I'll put her in my seat so we can repair the TurboKat," T-bone said as he climbed over the back of his seat. Razor slowly picked her up and lifted her up in T-bone arms. Once T-bone had her, he slowly lifted and placed her down into his seat, also putting a pillow and some padding under her to give more comfort. After Lt. Feral was comfortably situated in the pilot's seat, T-bone leaped from the side and moved towards a table to the right with many power tools on it. Razor was right behind him as he came from out of the now open cargo bay. They took off their helmets and T-bone grabbed the mega-rivet gun, while Razor reached for a large red toolbox. As they headed back to the TurboKat, T-bone went off the fix the back fin and Razor went to work on Engine #3. After the Swat Kats had gotten out of the TurboKat, Callie took a look around the entire hanger. She was in awe. Never had she been inside the Swat Kat's secret hanger before. After a minute or so of gazing, she dropped down into the cargo bay and turned to see Razor working in the back most part of it. She walked over to him, "Razor, what's wrong?" Razor turned, seeing her, and he smiled at the sight of her face, "I've got to repair the fuel line to Engine 3 and secure Engine 2's systems. You saw what happened when we tried to fly on only one engine," he said, turning and starting to work again. Callie walked over beside him, "Yeah; we almost didn't make it." Razor stopped working and looked at Callie's face, "I'm glad we didn't sit this one out." "Me too," Callie said, smiling. "Do you know why the MetalliKats attacked you?" Razor asked. "The door blasted open, knocking both Felina and me off our feet. They walked in and first took out Felina as she tried firing at them. Then they came after me... I did hear them talking to each other about how nice it was to finally get their revenge. I can only imagine their attack on my apartment and me is related to the hard feelings they still have about me denying their parole. I don't think they're ever going to stop coming after me," she explained. "Well, it doesn't matter, I'm never going to leave your side," Razor said, looking into her eyes. Callie smiled and kissed Razor on the cheek, "I'm very lucky to have someone like you Razor," she said after the kiss. Razor smiled, warm hearted, then noticed the tired look on her face, "Callie do you want to lie down and rest while we repair the TurboKat? You can sleep in my room, it's much cleaner than T-bone's at the moment. I would offer the couch, but it's not all that comfortable." "What time is it?" Callie answered. Razor pulled back his glove and read his watch. "It's about 12:30." "Yeah, I'll try to get some sleep." "Good, climb the ladder up and go to the second floor of the garage, down the hall to the right is my room. It has the bed with the soft gray comforter." Callie kissed Razor again, "Thank you. You will wake me up before we leave?" "Of course." "Goodnight, Razor," Callie said as she smiled once again and left. Razor smiled back, "Goodnight, Callie." As Callie walked out of cargo bay, a pair of groggy eyes watched her. They blinked slowly and within a few seconds Ms. Briggs had climbed out of the hanger. The head slowly faced forward to a cockpit control panel. Lt. Feral tried to lift her arm but felt the pain of the laser shot shoot up her shoulder and gave up. She stayed there, virtually motionless, except her eyes surveyed the scene set in front of her. She could hear faint voices in the background. She tried hard to listen and soon the words became understandable. "Razor, we're going to have to reinstall a new tail fin; this one is beyond repair." "Well, we've got a spare in bay 2." "Alright, I'll get it." Lt. Feral turned her head to and saw a figure which resembled T-bone walk away and into another massive room in the hanger. "Razor, this thing is too heavy for me to lift by myself, give me a hand." Felina looked again and saw a smaller figure, closely resembling Razor, follow the path of the first Kat. As she saw the two figures re-enter the room with a giant black tail fin between them, her heavy eyelids came down and within a few moments she was unconscious again. "How's Felina?" Razor asked as he backed up towards the TurboKat with the fin in his paws. T-bone looked up at the cockpit to see her face facing them, but her eyes closed. 'That's funny she wasn't facing that way when I put her down,' he thought. Dismissing his thought, he answered, "She's still out." * (An hour later) * "Finally, it's done," Razor said with a sigh of relief. He rolled himself out from under the engine to see T-bone standing over him. "Done?" he said. "Well yes, and no. I've reinstalled Engine 3's fuel line and also re-done the circuitry to the jet boosters. I've also ran a diagnostic on them both, they both check out." Razor said, wiping the sweet form his face. He turned to T-bone, "How's your foot?" he asked. It's better, still hurts, but for now it's just numb. I kinda forgot about it with repairing the TurboKat Speaking of which, what about engine 2?" T-bone asked. "Beyond repair. We'll have install a new one when we get back," Razor answered. "So, we can leave now?" T-bone asked. "No, not yet. While Engine 2 is gone, it still needs to be checked for loose circuits. You can fly on Engine 1 and 3 just fine, but if 2 has some loose wires, a single spark could possibly start an explosion taking out the entire jet... Or it's possible that nothing is wrong at all... I just don't know, and before we take off we should know," Razor explained. "How much longer?" T-bone asked. "Well, if I end up needing to install safety buffers, then I'd say about another half hour," Razor replied, standing up and closing the open engine panel he had been working in. "What the heck?" T-bone said suddenly. "What?" "Razor, what is that?" T-bone asked as he bent down and pointed at a small metallic circle attached to TurboKat. It had a very small green light in the center of it. "I don't know, I didn't even notice it," Razor answered as he bent down to inspect it. "Looks like some sort of tracking..." Razor stopped; the green light went out. "That's strange..." Suddenly, an explosion came from the back hatch leading out to the yard. Razor and T-bone turned their heads to see two figures, eyes glowing red with hate, walking slowly towards them. "Oh Crud, they tracked us back here!" Razor said out loud. The two Swat Kats rushed over the table and quickly put on their helmets and glovatrixes. Razor also grabbed a bazooka. He turned to T-bone, "You need to get Felina out of here now!" "I'm not going to leave you behind!" T-bone exclaimed. "I'll draw them out to salvage yard, you go drop Felina off at the hospital and get your tail back here," Razor explained as the MetalliKats came closer. "What about engine 2?" T-bone asked quickly. "No time to check it." T-bone looked back at the TurboKat then back to Razor, "Alright, I have to go " Razor turned to T-bone. He brought his free paw up and grabbed T-bone's. "Be careful, Buddy," he said. T-bone nodded his head, "You too. I'll be right back, she'll hold together." T-bone let go of Razor's paw and made his way as quickly as he could to the TurboKat. "Where you running to, Swat Kat? The party's just gettin started," Mac said, now fully recovered. He aimed his weapon at T-bone, but was suddenly thrown back by a shot from Razor's bazooka. "Over here, Mac!" Razor yelled, covering T-bone's escape. T-bone leaped up to the cockpit and, as quickly and safely as he could, he moved Lt. Feral from his seat to Razor's. After she was situated, he leaped into his seat, closed to canopy and started up the engine. 1 and 3 came online and everything was running smoothly. "Just hold together for old T-bone," T-bone said out loud. "Mac, he's trying to get away!" Molly yelled, pointing her laser claw at the TurboKat. Razor aimed his Bazooka once more and fired at them both again. The explosion knocked her back to the wall. Mac, however, was still standing, and he launched an assault of slugs at Razor. He jumped out of the way and ran to get cover from the fire. Razor's bazooka shot had given T-bone enough time to lower the jet down and fly out of the hanger. As he blasted out of the tunnel he looked back for a moment, "Hang in there, buddy, I'll be right back." The movement from front to back seat had stirred the consciousness of Lt. Feral and, as the engines had roared, she now had her eyes open. As the TurboKat escaped from out of the tunnel, she looked to her right and saw flashes of the salvage yard. Slowly, he mind started working, 'The Enforcer Salvage Yard, what are the Swat Kats doing in...' but she lost consciousness as T-bone turned and accelerated towards MegaKat Hospital. Chp4. 'Great plan Razor', Razor thought as he ran up the secondary launch ramp. The same ramp the MetalliKats had blasted their way in from. Laser shots zoomed by his head, as did slugs. He sprinted as fast as he could, zigzagging so as to not let Mac or Molly get a clean lock on. 'I just hope this works...' As Razor emerged into the heavily lit yard, he almost tripped over his own feet and banked hard left. He rushed over behind a giant pile of scrap metal and climbed its back to the near top. The night was alive all around him, but the massive lighting system they had installed provided tolerable visibility. He looked over the pile of scrap, down upon the entrance of the tunnel. As he waited he could feel his whole body pulse with every beat of his heart. "So, you wanna play hide and seek, Swat Kat?" Mac taunted as the two MetalliKats emerged, slowly walking out the tunnel. Razor lowered his head to make sure they didn't see him. He still had a clean line of sight as the MetalliKats walked further into the yard. Mac and Molly looked all around the yard, surveying everything; the metal, the machines and the garage Molly activated her heat sensors, and there in the second story of the garage a heat signature registered. "Mac, he's over there," Molly said as she and her husband moved off toward the garage. They walked past the giant pile where Razor was hiding. He looked down at them and looked up at the garage in the distance. 'He's in the garage? Who else is ' "Ah crud, Callie!" Razor said out loud from his thoughts. Quickly, he stood up and aimed his glovatrix at the feet of the MetalliKats. The explosion from the twin octopus missiles knocked the Mac and Molly off their feet. "I'm over here, you cons," he taunted. "Then chew on this," Molly yelled as she got up and fired a laser beam right at Razor's head. Razor threw himself out of the way, and in the process, fell down the pile of metal. He finally crashed hard into the ground, skidding across it for a few more feet before he came to a stop. He got up with a huge pain pulsing from his shoulder from where he had landed. Rubbing it slightly, he looked back at the pile. All was quiet for a moment, but then he heard a faint noise come from behind the mountain of metal. The sound whisked through the air and was coming towards him. Realizing the danger, he turned and rushed away from the metal pile only a few seconds before it exploded. The blast tossed Razor forward and he landed on the assortment of tires located in the center of the obstacle course. Still on the ground he looked back and, past the smoke and small fires from the explosion, stood Mac and Molly, closing in on him. 'This is just getting better and better," Razor thought as turned his attention from Mac and Molly to the obstacle course around him. He looked over at the giant monkey bars, then over to another mountain of scrap that led to the famous rope swing over water, where Chance had almost drowned. Quickly, he got up and headed past the monkey bars, hoping the MetalliKats would follow. Surely, Mac and Molly did come around and walked past the bars. In perfect position too. Razor took advantage of his sudden idea and fired four mini mole missiles at each poll that supported the bars up. As the missiles hit, the bars fell over, right on to Mac and Molly. "Molly, look out!" Mac called as he stepped away. Molly just stood still, "Are you stupid or somethin'?" she asked as the bars came closer. Extending her metallic paw, she caught the bars and tossed them aside. "You're afraid of this puny jungle gym?" Mac, embarrassed, ignored Molly's comment and fired a volley of slugs at Razor. Razor quickly fired a grappling hook at the pile of scrap to his left and was pulled to safety just moments before the slugs would have struck him. As he landed, he realized that on the other side of the pile was the rope swing and water. "Still can't seem to get it right," Razor turned and taunted to Mac. Mac, furious, started to walk over to the pile and climb up it. "Mac, what are you dong? Just shoot him!" "No, he wants to play king of the mountain, and I'm gonna show him who's king around here," Mac retorted. Razor waited until Mac was halfway up to retreat. He moved over the top and jumped to the rope swing. After swinging over the water, he let go of the rope and flipped to face back towards the pile of scrap. He landed, glovatrix ready, and only had to wait a few moments before he could see Mac's face come over the side. "Where you running to now, Swat Kat?" Mac called out. Razor fired a missile at the center of the pile. The explosion instantly collapsed the mountain's stability. Mac flew forward, and fell toward the small lake of water below. While he was still in the air, the lose scrap metal disbanded all over the yard, even into the lake. One piece in particular landed into the wet under soil of the lake and stood up with a giant jagged edge pointing at Mac. His leg violently struck the jagged metal spike in the center of the lake. The impact sent him spinning as he crashed into the lake. Quickly, Mac got back up and stood in the middle of the lake, looking furious at Razor. "You're going to pay for that Swat Kat," he said as he took a step forward. Just as he took his first step he noticed a spark from below him. Looking down he realized the leg that struck the metal spike was damaged to the extent of showing loose wires of his inner circuitry. While Mac was looking down and inspecting the surprise of his leg, Razor sprinted towards him. As he reached the edge of the water, Razor leaped and pounced on Mac. Mac, totally oblivious, fell back into the water, and Razor pushed off him, barely making the jump back to solid ground. Mac was helpless as the sparks flew from his leg and the electric current shot into the water. Immediately, the lake was charged and everything inside was getting the justice of it. Mac shook as the current ripped him apart. The water seeped into his leg and spread to all over his inner circuitry. On contact, the wires inside him exploded with the unrelenting charge. After his body was filled with water, as if a giant thunderbolt struck him from the sky above, he exploded. "MAC!" Molly yelled out in pain, running over to the lake. She looked all over the yard in disbelief, but only saw pieces of him. Mac was no more It wasn't possible anymore, but inside Molly, tears of sadness poured down her cheek. He, her husband, was gone Her eyes ignited bright red with hate as she turned back to find Razor. Razor was now running over the crane on the far right of the yard. On its end was a giant magnetized pad, used for moving giant metallic pieces. As he got closer to the crane, an explosion suddenly appeared from his top right, and an avalanche of metal came rushing towards him. As he jumped out of the way, a section of an old Enforcer Jet's wing hit his leg. His momentum was enough to push him to safety, but he landed awkwardly and twisted his foot. With pain surging now from his shoulder and foot, he got up and continued toward the crane, hobbling as fast as he could. As he reached the edge of the cockpit, he picked himself up and started to climb into it but turned back at the same whisking sound coming toward him. It was a missile Molly had launched, heading straight at the crane itself. The explosion of the giant metal frame above sent Razor flying back onto the ground, some 30 feet away. That was the last one, Razor couldn't take any more. He looked at the crane, which was in flames and in two pieces. "That was my last option," he said to himself. He tried to get up and did so, very slowly. But he didn't move, he was to sore and hurt too much. Standing there, he looked up to see two red eyes, full of scorn and furry, glaring at him. Molly was silent, her hate consumed her. She raised her blaster and aimed it at Razor's heart. 'This is it,' Razor thought to himself. He stood there and waited Time stood still. * * * Callie got up from her nap and slowly made her way out of Jake's room. As she went downstairs and made her way towards the hanger, she stopped at the noise of a blast from out in the yard. Walking over to the window, she looked on in fright as the Razor was thrown back from an explosion. "Razor!" Callie called out. Of course he couldn't hear her. Callie started to rush outside to aid him, but stopped when she noticed the MetalliKats. Quickly, she turned and hurried down into the hanger. "T-bone!" she called out, but he was gone, as was the TurboKat. "Oh crud, what am I going to do," she said, her heart racing. She looked all over the hanger for an idea, a something, an anything A bazooka * * * "This is where you die, Swat Kat," Molly finally spoke. 'Chance Callie ' Razor thought as he closed his eyes and awaited his end. Suddenly, a missile struck Molly and hurtled her back into the fiery wreckage of the crane. Razor opened his eyes, surprised, and looked to his side to see Callie holding a bazooka on her shoulder. He smiled in relief, but turned back to see Molly yelling out in hatred. She aimed her blaster again at the Deputy Mayor as she stood surrounded by flames. "Callie!" Razor called as he rushed as best he could over to her, "Get down!" Suddenly, from out of the sky, the TurboKat came into range. T-bone, fierce determination in his eyes, fired a tarpedo missile at Molly. The missile shot out of the belly of the TurboKat and spat out tar all over Molly's shiny metallic body. She threw her hands up in chaos as the flames leaped onto the tar. Instantaneously, she was engulfed in them. The fire burned hotter and hotter the more Molly moved. The temperatures soared and exceeded the tolerance of her metallic body. Slowly, she started to melt. Inside her, all the circuitry ignited into flames. Crumbling to the ground Molly went offline. It was only a few moments later that she exploded, much in the same fashion as Mac had. Razor and Callie ducked their heads and looked on as Molly became no more. Razor turned to the sky above him to see the TurboKat's running lights coming closer to him. He waved to T-bone with a giant smile on his face. T-bone gave Razor the thumbs up back, even though Razor couldn't see it, as he started to turn towards the landing tunnel. "Miss me?" he asked over the radio in his helmet. Just as he lined up with the tunnel, the jet shook violently. Razor didn't have to time to answer as he looked up to see Engine 2 suddenly shoot out sparks and explode, causing Engine 3 to immediately shut down. T-bone looked back at the engines, "Ah Crud!" he yelled. He pulled up and stopped his descent, only maintaining his current altitude. "Oh no, Engine 2 did blow," Razor said. "T-bone, you need to land now!" he called over the radio. "No can do, buddy," T-bone replied, struggling to keep the jet steady. "I can't risk crash landing in the tunnel " he was cut off as Engine 1 went out. "Oh Crud, flame out!" he yelled. "The jet boosters!" Razor yelled into his radio. His heart was racing with fear for T- bone. T-bone quickly engaged the boosters, and they came out and fired just in time for T- bone to pull up. But, he was now past the salvage yard, heading out of MegaKat City. "T-bone pull around and land, you can do it now," Razor called. T-bone looked at the fuel gage, it was falling rapidly, "No can do, buddy, my fuels falling fast, I wouldn't have enough to pull back around and land properly. Looks like I'm going to have to crash land in the desert," he replied, still fighting the stick. Realizing, "T-bone, can you make it to the base?" Razor asked. Remembering, "I'll try," he replied. "Roger that, I'll drive down there and pick you up, rendezvous in t-minus 5 minutes," Razor replied as he rushed as fast as he could towards the hanger. Callie followed and kept up with the still hurting Razor. "See you then," T-bone replied as the TurboKat went out of sight and out of radio range. "Base?" Callie asked as they ran. "Yeah, we built a secondary base out in the desert," Razor replied as he ran into the room with the tow truck. "Get beside the truck." Callie did so, and Razor hit a hidden red button. Then he rushed over to get beside Callie. The truck platform lowered itself in the hanger and Razor quickly opened the door and got in the truck. "Callie, I'll be right back. Can you keep and eye on the place until I get back? I don't know who might have seen that fire fight. Just don't talk to anybody until we get back." "Alright, Razor," she said stepping away from truck. Razor started the truck and quickly released the clutch, floored the gas, and shifted into second. The truck blew away down a long dark tunnel only lit by a small line of lights on its sides. Callie looked on as the lights from the truck slowly faded away down the tunnel. Razor soon engaged the mega-thrusters to the truck, and it shot even faster down the tunnel towards the desert base. As soon as Razor arrived, he got out of the truck and rushed into the elevator. As it lifted him up towards the surface, he called over the radio again, "T-bone?" "Yeah, I'm here," T-bone replied. A sigh of relief came over Razor as the door opened and he saw T-bone standing there, his figure only lit by moonlight. He had a gloomy look over his face as he stood next to a TurboKat scratched up and lying in the dusty rock. Razor slowly walked over to T-bone, "It's not that bad. I'm just glad you made it out okay," Razor said. "Yeah," T-bone replied, realizing Razor was right. He was alive. "Felina's alright?" Razor asked, changing the subject. "Yeah, the people at the hospital are taking good care of her. When I first got there, they immediately called Feral. I was lucky to get out of there before he showed up. Probably blame this on us, like everything else..." T-bone said. "C'mon, buddy, we got to get back," Razor said as he turned back to the elevator. "We're just going to leave it here?" "Yeah, there's no way to get it underground." "We need to get working on that," T-bone said as he turned and headed with Razor, back to the elevator. As the Two Kats walked in and turned, they faced the TurboKat. T-bone still had a gloomy look on his face. "What's wrong, buddy?" Razor asked. "I don't know, I just feel like I won't see her again." "What are you talking about? We'll probably be back later tonight." "Yeah, you're right, it's stupid," T-bone said as the elevator doors closed. The TurboKat remained, with the blanket of moonlight covering all over it. When they reached the bottom floor, they walked over to the truck. Razor allowed T- bone to drive back. Right before he started the car the SK communicator beeped at them from the dashboard. T-bone looked at Razor, "Isn't she still asleep?" Razor reached over and flicked on the radio, "Yes, Callie?" "Razor, Feral's right outside the salvage yard and he's waiting with about four other Enforcer units. The gate's still locked, but I don't know for how long," Callie said over the communicator. "Hold on, Callie, we'll be right there," Razor replied as he switched off the radio. He turned to T-bone. "Why would Feral be at our front door?" T-bone asked. "Probably cause someone saw that fire fight," Razor answered. "We don't want to risk anything, let's change into out work clothes when we get back." "And, drive out the back way in the truck then come around through the front, to make him think we just got back from a job," T-bone suggested. "Yeah, let's go," Razor said. T-bone started the truck and shifted into gear as they made their way down the tunnel and back to the hanger. As the tow truck stopped, Callie climbed down the ladder to meet them. "Are you okay, T-bone?" she asked after both Swat Kats had climbed out. T-bone looked up at her, "Yeah, Callie, I'm alright," he replied. "Glad to hear it. Feral's still out there, he just got off the phone with somebody. I don't know what it was about, " Callie explained. "Probably sent for someone to get the key to unlock the gate," Razor said. "We've got to hurry." T-bone and Razor made their way quickly over to their lockers and changed out of the flight suits. Callie looked at them a bit awkwardly as they both undressed in front of her. They paid no attention to her, but, after a few moments, she turned around and faced the other way, thinking it best. After they were done, Chance and Jake made their way back to the truck. Jake grabbed Callie hand as he passed by her. He stopped and looked at her, "Stay here, and we'll be right back. If anything goes wrong, I'll call you on the communicator," he said. "Alright," Callie replied, understanding, but not wanting to be left behind again. "See you soon," Jake said as he let go of her hand and rushed to catch up with Chance. Once they got the truck started, Chance backed up a ways and then turned the wheel and headed down an alternate tunnel. As truck drove out of sight, Callie sighed and headed back up to garage to see what was going to happen next. Chp5. (1:00 am) The lights from the Enforcer cars shoot all over the drive and gateway to the salvage yard as Feral stood waiting, looking down at the gate lock. "Sergeant, where is the tool I requested over 10 minutes ago?" Feral called out to the short Kat standing by the radio in his car. "Sir, it was called in, I don't " he stopped at the sight of a tow truck driving up to the front gate. Feral's eyes locked onto the front window screen and glared at the two Kats riding inside. He walked over in front of the gate as the truck slowed and stopped. Chance poked his head out of the driver's side window, "Can we help you, commander?" "Furlong, Clawson, get out of the truck and come over here right now," Feral's voice boomed. Chance shut off the truck and, with Jake, got out of the truck. They walked over to Feral and the mass of Enforcers that surrounded him. "Yes Commander?" Chance asked. "You've got some explaining to do," Feral said. "Just minutes ago, there were a number of huge explosions from inside that salvage yard, " Feral said as he pointed behind him. "The MetalliKats hover car is parked inside there and the Swat Kats jet was seen flying back towards this way," Feral said, eyeing Chance and Jake. Chance and Jake both knew what he was talking about, however, they acted shocked. Jake even went as far and commented on the fires from the battle, still blazing in the yard. "Holy Kats, Chance, the yard's on fire," he said, overwhelmed and ignoring Feral's accusation. Chance grew angry and confronted Feral. "Are you suggesting that *we* are the Swat Kats Commander!? That we I don't believe this! *You* banished us from flying over two years ago!" the unsettled anger was still apparent in his voice. "Do you see that," he pointed to the truck, "*That's* what we've been doing all night, working late in the city." He was practically yelling at Feral, "*That* is what you have reduced us " "Chance!" Jake interrupted, letting the fire bit go as he pulled his buddy back. Chance, still angry, looked back at Jake. Jake looked at him sympathetically, but shook his head 'No.' Chance agreed and calmed down. He looked back at Feral, who was very upset. With stern aggravation, "You two hotshots got " Feral was cut off by an Enforcer officer calling to him. "Commander Feral, they've found the Swat Kats jet, crashed in the desert," he reported. "What about the Swat Kats?" Feral asked. "The jet was abandoned, sir." Feral looked back at Chance and Jake. This time it was Jake who spoke up, "Commander, it's not us, we've been working in the city all night," he said. "Where do you think I 20 leads you to anyway?" Chance asked as he pointed back to the highway which they had gotten off of. Feral looked at them for another long moment then up at the highway. Then he turned his head back to the officer, "Lieutenant, order a team to salvage the jet and bring it to Enforcer HQ immediately. "Yes sir," answered the Lieutenant as he got on the radio and relayed the order. Feral turned back to Chance and Jake. "If I were you, I'd watch what you say from now on," he said, then walked past them and got in his car. Chance and Jake looked back as Feral, as well as the rest of Enforcer units, drove quickly away. Jake took out the key out of his pocket and unlocked the gate. Once he removed the lock Chance kicked the gate open in frustration, "Great! Now *he's* got the TurboKat!" He slowly turned and stomped back into the truck. Jake just walked in as Chance drove into the yard. They're was a small clear pathway in the center of the yard, not covered by wreckage, that Chance drove down to get back to the garage. As they approached it, Callie was standing inside the huge open garage door. The lights from above her, shown down as she moved toward them through the night. Jake met her and gave her a hug, as Chance drove by. Callie noticed the preoccupied look on Jake's face, "What happened?" Jake let out a heavy sigh, "Feral's got the TurboKat." "And, we're going to go get it, right now," Chance said as he got out of truck and headed toward the hanger. Jake let out another sigh, "Hold on, Chance," he called. "We've got to take out those fires first." Chance stopped, turned around, and grabbed two giant fire extinguishers. Handing one to Jake, he moved out into the yard. Within ten minutes they had all the small fires put out, and most of the wreckage cleared. Once done, Chance dropped the extinguisher and headed again for the hanger. Jake followed and stopped in front of Callie. "You'll be right back," she said before he could speak. "Callie I'm " "Jake, don't worry about it." "What are you going to do?" "Just stay here, maybe get some sleep." "Alright, I'll be right back," Jake said as he started backwards towards the hanger. "See you soon," Callie replied as Jake waved back moving out of sight. Jake slid down the ladder and ran over to change at his locker. Chance had just finishing changing. "How are we going to get it out?" Jake asked. "I've got a better question for you, how are we going to get it to fly?" "Good point," Jake answered. "We're going to have to fix the engines before we can fly anywhere." "How long will that take?" "Minutes? Hours? I don't know how bad the damage is." "We can't stay in there forever buddy," T-bone retorted. "I know," Razor answered as he put his helmet on. "Let's just see when we get there," he said as he walked over to a workstation. After quickly grabbing a huge container and a toolbox, he walked over to the twin cyclotron. "T-bone, give me a hand with these fuel containers," Razor said. T-bone walked over to where Razor had gotten the first one and grabbed a second container. They placed both containers in the cargo compartments of the twin cyclotron, as well as the tool belt. T-bone got in the head seat as Razor sat in the rear. With a huge rev of the engine from T-bone, the Swat Kats zoomed out of the tunnel, off towards Enforcer HQ in the dark of night. Chp6. The Swat Kats stopped about a block away from Enforcer HQ. T-bone and Razor looked up in the night sky as they saw the lights from a giant chopper fly overhead. Razor used the binoculars to see that the chopper was carrying the TurboKat in a giant harness underneath it. "Looks like we beat them here," he said. "Let's go, buddy," T-bone said as he engaged the throttle again and drove closer to the building. "We'll need to use the construction and service elevator to get the cyclotron up the launch bay," Razor said. "Great, this night just gets better and better," T-bone replied. * * * "Well Swat Kats, I've got your jet So, what are you going to do now?" Feral was talking to himself as he stood alone on the Enforcer hanger floor looking at the beat up TurboKat. He waved up at the booth to his upper right to the guard on duty. The guard waved back and Feral, after one more look, walked out of the hanger, preparing to go home. * * * The massive service elevator doors opened. The guard from the booth up above looked down in confusion to see an abandoned motorcycle looking vehicle laying on its side in the center of the elevator. He made his way down and walked towards the open doors. "Hey Joe, everything alright?" called the second guard, who was on the upper floor of the hanger. "I don't know, it's strange - what's a bike doing " He was silenced by a small dart going into his leg. As he fell to the ground, the other guard called out. "Joe!" the second guard called out, but was quickly silenced as T-bone came up from behind him and shot him with a similar tranquilizing dart. Razor looked around, "That's everyone right?" T-bone looked around, "Tight security," he replied sarcastically. "A little too easy," Razor said, but waved the thought off as he rushed back to the cyclotron and drove it towards the TurboKat. Once he got alongside of it, he pulled out the toolbox and inspected the engines. After T-bone had disconnected all the cameras operating in the hanger from the control booth, he called to Razor through his radio in his helmet. "How's it look?" "Actually, not that bad. I can have Engine 1 and 3 up in a few minutes, and I'll need a few more to refuel," Razor answered. "What about Engine 2? If you don't fix it, won't it blow again?" T-bone asked. "It's gone, T-bone. The explosion back at the yard blew everything that Engine 2 had left away. But, you're right, I will need to put some shielding between the lose cables and wires left from the explosion. Shouldn't take that long." "Alright," T-bone answered as he headed down to help Razor. The next five minutes went by very slowly for both Swat Kats. As they worked, their hearts raced, always thinking they would be discovered. As soon as Razor was done putting up the small shielding around Engine 2, T-bone fired a grappling hook up at the guardrail by the control booth. After pulling himself up, he quickly moved into booth and hit the control to open the hanger gate. About 20 feet or so away a giant gate opened and the open air lay beyond it. T-bone ran out of the booth and made his way down to the TurboKat as quickly as he could. Jumping into pilot's seat of the cockpit, he called back, "Everything ready, Razor?" "Yeah Wait." Razor called out suddenly. "What is it?" "I'm not going to fall for the same trick twice." T-bone, suddenly realizing exactly what Razor was talking about, turned back to him, "That's why security was a joke," he replied. He turned back and faced Razor, "How are we going to find it?" "I'm going to run a scan for any radio signals being sent out from the TurboKat," Razor replied. He closely looked at his radar screen and finally a small reading came up. "Bingo! It's Right in your seat, T-bone," Razor said, surprised. T-bone turned to look around; up, down, left, right, but he couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. Then, he bent down and reached under his seat. As his hand moved around, it came across a foreign shaped object. He grabbed it and pulled it up so he could see it. It was a small hexagonal shaped device sending off a small flash of blue light every 3 seconds. "Razor, I found it. Nice try, Feral," T-bone said as he threw it aside and onto the cold floor of the hanger. "Now, are we ready?" "All set, buddy." T-bone started the engines and, once he felt them warmed up, he pushed the throttle up to full and the TurboKat blasted out of the lower hanger of the Enforcer building. * * * As the sonic explosion came from the upper part of the building, Feral quickly looked up from the street below to see the TurboKat blast away from the skyscraper. Feral face grew pleasantly surprised as he pull out a signal device receiver from his back pocket. As he looked at it, his face grew cross. The blue dot that was flashing was remaining stationary while the TurboKat was long gone. And, the blue dot was only a few feet from where it had been when he installed the tracking device. He grew so angry and frustrated that he threw the receiver against the ground. With it in pieces he ripped opened his car door and violently threw all his things inside * * * Slowly, she opened her eyes. First, looking all around her to see a white room, with a TV set placed in the upper left-hand corner and a plate of hot food next to her bed. She slowly leaned up, but felt the pain in her chest pull her back down. "Lt. Feral, you're awake," a nurse who had been watching over her said. "I'll notify Commander Feral," she said as she got up and walked out of the room towards the phone. Felina did sit up this time and looked around some more. She also inspected herself; the wounds had been bandaged and the ribs had been restructured. They hurt to touch, but she was feeling much better than she had earlier. As the nurse came back in, Felina asked, "When do you think I'll be able to get out of here?" "Well, your injuries seem to be healing nicely. There is little more we can do here, I'd say give it the rest of the night before you can go home. But, you will be out of action for a good 4 weeks," she answered. "Oh, and your Uncle is on his way," she added. "Thank you," Felina replied as she laid back down, her mind weighing her down with thoughts. * * * T-bone hit the tunnel door opener button on his remote and flew the TurboKat down into the hanger. As the jet came to a stop and it was lifted up to the main level, T- bone sat back in his seat, "I'm glad this night is over," he sighed in exhaustion. "Yeah, you said it." The lift stopped and the canopy shot back. T-bone and Razor took their time getting out. Razor walked toward the locker as T-bone looked back at the jet. Razor finally noticed his partner's hesitation and turned around. "You coming, T-bone?" "Yeah, just thinking about the mega-tune up and clean up this baby's gonna get tomorrow," T-bone said as he started to walk towards Razor. "Yeah, it's going to be a lot of work. We're going to have to hold construction back on the base some more," Razor said, taking off his helmet. "Yeah, but for the TurboKat, it's worth it," T-bone replied as he took his helmet off. Jake smiled as Chance took off his mask. When they were done changing, Chance and Jake came up from the hanger and found Callie still awake, watching TV. It was Scardy Kat. "Alright, Scardy Kat," Chance said, feeling the effects of his lack of strength. "Yeah, it just ended, " Callie answered, standing up to greet them. "What time is it?" Chance asked. "It's 2:29," Jake answered. "Kats alive, I'm gonna feel this one tomorrow," Chance replied as stretched. "Goodnight, you two," he said as he started to make his way up stairs. "Goodnight Chance," Callie and Jake said simultaneously. Callie sat back down on the couch. Jake sat down next to her. "I'm really sorry about all the stuff that's happened tonight," he said. Callie looked at him, "Jake it's fine. I understand." "And, I wanted to thank you," Jake continued. "For?" "Saving my life back there " Callie smiled, "Just trying to repay an old debt." Jake smiled and put his arm around Callie. They stayed together like that for a few more moments until Jake sighed and got up. "Shall we retire this evening?" "Yes, I think we shall." Callie said, getting up. The two walked upstairs and Jake opened the door to his room for Callie to enter. She did, expecting Jake to follow, but turned around to see him still at the doorway. "You're not coming in?" she asked. "My bed's downstairs. Goodnight Callie," he answered. Callie walked back over to him. She moved close to him and kissed him, "Jake, you don't have to worry. C'mon," she said as she grabbed his paw and led him into the room. Jake's nerves started to go when Callie sat him down on the bed. She then slowly sat down beside him. Jake looked cautiously over at Callie, who was smiling, "You're cute when you're nervous," she said, almost laughing. The comment made Jake feel a bit better and, as he gave her a big hug, the two of them rolled back and lied down onto the bed with Callie in Jake's arms. Within a few moments, the two were fast asleep in each other's embrace. Chp7. The morning came and went by with everyone still asleep as the day grew. Chance slowly looked over at the clock to his right. It read 11:37am. He rubbed his face with his paws and sat up in his bed. He looked around his room, and noticed that he couldn't find his work clothes. As he got up from out of bed, he stood and looked in the mirror. He was wearing the work clothes. Chance chuckled incoherently, "Figures." Strangely enough, he felt refreshed. Looking back at his bed before he left his room, Chance rubbed the back of his head, "I haven't slept like that in a long time." As he walked down the hall, he passed Jake's room. The door was open and he looked inside to see the bed empty. As he got downstairs he found a note on the table, next to a full pot of hot coffee. The note read, Chance, Went to drive Callie home and clean up her place for a while. Be back around 2 or so. I'm also stopping by MegaKat hardware and picking up some stuff we're out of. Stuff we need to repair the TurboKat with. I made some coffee, and left it for you just in case you need it as badly as I did. See you soon, buddy." -Jake Chance put down the note and grabbed the empty mug next to the coffeepot. He poured himself a cup and sat down, looking at the paper that had also been placed on the table. As he took a swig of coffee, he grimaced and quickly set the cup back down. "Whoa, Jake. That's *really* strong, you must have needed *some* wake up," Chance said as he walked over and got a can of milk from the fridge to wash out the strong coffee taste. As he walked back to the table, now with a can of milk in one hand, and a bagel in the other, he noticed a figure standing at the outside the office door. She had her arm in a sling and a backward cap over her head. 'Lt. Feral?' Chance realized in surprise as he gave her a dumbfounded look. Putting the bagel and milk down, Chance walked over and opened the door. "Hello, may I help you?" "You're Chance Furlong, right?" Felina said. "Yeah, that's me," Chance answered. He moved aside and made room for Felina to come in, "Would you like to come in?" "Thank you," Felina said as she slowly walked in. Chance looked on as Felina made her way to the table, 'She's standing? She's still got to be in a lot of pain from last night... Why isn't she still in the hospital? Why is she here?' his mind raced with questions as he followed Felina inside. She reached down to pull out a chair to sit, but clenched her arm tight as the pain from her chest forced her to stop. Chance quickly moved over and pulled the chair out for her. She sat down slowly and kept the strong ache from resurfacing. Chance let go of the chair and moved over to the coffeepot, but, suddenly remembering that it was unbearable, he decided against offering it. He moved back across from her. "Umm, can I get you anything to drink?" he asked uneasily. "Actually, would it be too much trouble to get a cup of that coffee?" Felina asked. "Oh, you don't want that. It's horrible, my buddy makes it so strong that it'll probably degrease an engine," Chance explained. "Can I try?" Felina persisted. "If you dare," Chance said as he poured her a cup. She took the cup with her free paw, "Thanks," and took a drink. She put the glass back down, with no change in emotion on her face. "Ah, not bad," she said. Chance looked at her in awe, "Go figure," is all he could say. Felina downed the rest of the glass and set it back down on the table. "Thanks," she said again. "So, can I help you with anything?" Chance asked, trying to get to the real subject, whatever it was. Felina looked up at him, her eyes fixed on his. 'Why is she looking at me like that?' Chance thought. Felina started to look around the garage, but soon her eyes landed back on Chance. "Um, you seem to know who I am, but I don't have a clue as to you are," Chance said, breaking the silence. Felina's look changed from wonder to suspicion as she answered, "Lt. Felina Feral, Enforcers." She started to extend her paw to shake Chance's but pulled back as the ache returned. "What happened to you?" Chance asked sympathetically. "That's why I'm here," Felina answered as she eyed Chance again. "Lt. Feral, why are you giving me that look?" Chance asked. "And, what are you talking about?" "Chance Furlong, just over two years ago you and your partner Jake Clawson were kicked out of the Enforcers for the extensive damage caused to the new Enforcer building," Felina started. "Yeah, I know," Chance replied. "You two were then assigned to work in this salvage yard to pay off the cost of rebuilding the damage you caused," Felina said. "Lt. Feral, if you came down here to give me a history lesson, I *don't* need one. I clearly remember what happened," Chance retorted. Felina pulled back at Chance's strong words. She now looked at him with kind eyes, leaving the interrogation behind. "T-bone, what are you doing?" she asked friendly. Chance pulled back, thrown off. He blinked in confusion, "What did you call me?" he asked. "T-bone you don't have to hide, I know it's you," Felina said again calmly. 'Oh great,' Chance thought, as he continued to give Felina confusion, "Lt. Feral, I don't know what you're " "Last night when we got back to the hanger, I woke up and took a look around while in your seat," Felina said. "Then, when you moved me from the front to back seat and flew me to the hospital, I managed to see the salvage yard as we came out of the tunnel " Chance was silent. Inside, his thoughts conflicted, 'She knows I've got to deny it But, she's got all the proof she needs But, what if she brings Feral down here?' Chance had no idea what to do. "Chance, it's okay. I don't plan on telling my uncle or anyone else," Felina added. Chance's face changed from a false denial to an understanding acceptance She knew, couldn't fight it "So, what are you going to do?" Chance finally asked. "Nothing. I just wanted to come down here and thank you for saving my life," Felina said. "I'm just glad to see you're better," Chance looked up into Felina's eyes. "Yeah, I'm not allowed to go back to work for four weeks." "Get some rest," Chance added. "Yeah " Felina stopped speaking at the sight of another Kat standing outside the office door. "Oh, that's my ride. I've got to go," Felina explained. Chance got up and walked over to help her up. As the two walked towards the door, Chance said, "Thank you for keeping this to yourself." Felina stopped and turned around. "It's no problem. Thank you again for saving my life." Chance smiled. "Now I have to figure out something to do with my time off," Felina added as she starting walking towards the door again. "You could come hang out down here if you wanted," Chance replied. "Really? You know what, I think I might," Felina said as she smiled at Chance. "Whenever is fine for me," Chance added as he opened the door. "Until then," Felina said as she stepped out. "Until then," Chance repeated as they both smiled at each other. Felina walked with the other Kat back to the waiting car just outside the front gate. When they drove out of sight, Chance walked back and sat down at the table. He looked at Felina's empty coffee cup, "Jake's gonna have kittens "
