Hello, SK Fanfiction Archive fans. It has been along time since I wrote. I'm bringing a close to the Vacation Blues stories.( The titles don't make much sense really, do they?) If I have not done so (actually I haven't) already I need to clear up a few things for you, the readers. 1. Trevor Furson is a character I created in the last couple of fanfics. He has not done anything too important (He did meet the old cranky she-kat in the first story) yet. He is a martial artist and specializes in using swords, bows, and staffs.(long bows, quarter staffs, you get the picture.) He has one item that he cherishes most of all. A family heirloom given to him by his mother. (You will find out what it is later.) He is claustrophobic, only in extreme cases. He tries to not let it get to him. I would tell you about his past but that will be left for a later fanfic. He's more traditional when it comes to things. He likes to fight without guns, and fancy gadgets. He's computer illiterate. He likes the Swat Kats. They were his inspiration for going to MegaKat City. And, that's all on him. 2. The disclaimer!!!! The Swat Kats belong to Hanna Barbara, etc. you get the picture. 3. There are also two new villains I'm adding to the SK universe. You will have to read on to find out about them. 4. If you have any comments write me at skyejd3@yahoo.com. I will accept the usual, good, or flames that are sent my way. Vacation Blues Part 3 Callie looked out the window. She sighed. All of her plans for the week were ruined. She turned her attention to the TV. Ann Gora was reporting on the latest Swat Kat rescue. Callie shuddered at the coverage. Most of it was just Commander Feral venting steam about how the Swat Kats don't care about the city's welfare. She began to wonder about the poor Kats who were turned into the monsters. Callie was so deep in thought that she didn't even notice the two Kats watching her through the same window she had just peered through a moment ago. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wham! Chance hit the floor. Jake began laughing. "Uhhhhh...Oww," Chance moaned. He didn't think Trevor could do it, but he did. Trevor was still standing in a fighting stance and watching Chance like a hawk. Chance, still moaning, picked himself up and turned to face him. By now Jake was rolling on the floor. Chance was furious. Trevor was about the same size as Jake and he had expected to toss him just like Jake. But, Chance didn't know anything about him. Trevor went lax and crossed his arms. "I don't know why you are so mad," he said. "Maybe I should have warned you that I have been studying martial arts almost all of my life." "Hmph!" snorted Chance. "Yeah, whatever." He shot a death look at Jake, who instantly stopped laughing. Trevor turned away. He started to wonder if he was going to ever be able to get used to his new life in MegaKat City. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Callie walked into the kitchen. It was a wreck. She began to wash the dishes. "You sure do lead a messy life, Deputy Mayor," came a dark feminine voice. A chill ran up Callie's spine as she turned around. But, there was nobody there. She knew she heard a voice. She grabbed a knife from the silverware drawer and proceeded towards the table. She grabbed her purse off the table and fumbled around inside for her communicator. When she found it, she pressed the small red button in the center. "A very wise choice, Deputy Mayor." This time it was a dark masculine voice. She whirled around. There sitting on her counter was a tomkat dressed completely in black. He wore a red bandana around his forehead and a red sash around his waist. He wore a black cloth over his face. She could tell that he was well built beneath the black garments. Callie could see the sheath for a sword concealed inside the sash. "I would drop the knife if I were you." It was the same feminine voice from before. Callie did not turn around. She placed the knife on the table and put her paws up. "That's good." The she-kat walked around to face Callie. She too was dressed in black like the other kat. She was sleek and trim. But, Callie could tell that she was much stronger than she looked. She pointed her crossbow at Callie. "What do you want?" Callie asked. "Relax, Deputy Mayor," the tomkat said. The she-kat lowered and then holstered her crossbow. "You did exactly what we wanted." "What do you mean?" she inquired. "We know that everytime that you are in danger the Swat Kats show up," the she-kat declared. "We just want to meet the famous heroes of MegaKat City. You see, Deputy Mayor, we want to see for ourselves how great the Swat Kats really are. For, as you can see, we are the greatest ninja assassins alive and are ready to test our skills." "But, we are not without honor," said the tomkat. "What honor is this?" shouted Callie. "Katnapping kats at their apartments like this?" "My dear Deputy Mayor," he continued. "We already said that we want the Swat Kats. When they arrive, then you are no longer needed." With this said, the she-kat produced a small bauble and threw it on the floor. There was a blinding flash of light and that was all Callie could remember before she blacked out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The alarm blared through the garage. All three kats turned in the direction of the sound. "Must be those junkyard thieves again," shouted Chance over the sound. "Jake and I will check it out. Trevor, you stay here." Trevor tried to object, but they had disappeared into the kitchen before he could say anything. Jake and Chance slid down the ladder. Chance ran over and slammed his fist on the intercom button. "Yes, Miss Briggs?" There was no response on the end. "Razor!" Chance called. "I'm already tracking her, buddy!" Razor called back. Razor watched the blip on the screen that represented Callie. "She's at the litter factory at the edge of the city. Suit up, buddy." Chance threw on his gear and the two of them fired up the TurboKat. "I sure hope we can take off without that Trevor seeing us," mumbled T-Bone. "I've already taken care of that too, buddy," Razor assured him. Back in the garage Trevor paced impatiently. He could throw Chance but they didn't want his help with rounding up junkyard thieves. Trevor continued to think. Why would there be thieves in a junkyard? It's a junkyard! There's nothing but junk! He was just about ready to go into the kitchen when he heard Jake's voice call out to him. "Hey Trevor! Come into my room. Quick!" Trevor stopped short. Didn't they go through the kitchen? Trevor walked over to Jake's room and opened the door. "Now!" Razor told T-Bone. The TurboKat took off down the underground runway. Then, they took off into the open skies. Trevor turned around suddenly. He thought he heard a jet. "Must be those low flying Enforcers again," he said. "Hmmmm..." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The TurboKat flew at full speed towards the old litter factory. Once they reached the factory, T-Bone landed the TurboKat and the two of them carefully infiltrated the factory. They reached a large area with many conveyer belts and several large crates. Suddenly, the lights flashed on, blinding them. "How nice of you to show up, Swat Kats," a pair of dark sinister voices echoed. Razor was the first to recover from the flash. He looked up and, seated on a chair at the top of a stack of crates, was Callie. He noticed she was not tied down. "Swat Kats!" Callie called out. "Watch out - it's a trap!" "Tsk, tsk Deputy Mayor." The tomkat swung over to her and landed neatly beside her. "This is no trap. Allow me to introduce myself. I am called ShadowBlade and.." "I'm his sister ShadedRose." ShadedRose walked out of the shadows behind them. "What do you want with Callie?!" T-Bone challenged. "Not much," ShadowBlade said. "We just want to see what the famous Swat Kats can do." "We merely used the lovely Deputy Mayor to draw you to us so we could challenge you," ShadedRose began. "As of right now, the Deputy Mayor is free to go. As you can see, she is not tied to the chair and has not been harmed in any way." "All we ask of you is that you allow us to test our skills," ShadowBlade continued. "That's fine with me!" T-Bone growled. He was always ready for a new challenge. With that said, ShadowBlade jumped down from the crates. He unsheathed his sword. "Are you ready for me, Swat Kat?" He charged T-Bone with his sword lifted to strike. T-Bone lifted his glovatrix and he activated his titanium shield. He blocked the blow just in time. "Shall we begin?" ShadedRose drew six ninja shuriken from her sash. Razor jumped in behind some crates as she hurled them through the air at him. Two whizzed past him as he dove behind the crates. The other four embedded themselves into the crate. Razor adjusted his glovatrix. He jumped out from behind the crates and fired an octopus missile at her. She unholstered her crossbow and put an arrow into. She fired it at the octopus missile, deflecting it. Hmmmm. Razor thought. She's good. I'm going to have to think of something else. Meanwhile, T-Bone had his own paws full. He had ShadowBlade by both wrists, and the two of them were struggling with each other. T-Bone started to push ShadowBlade back. But, in his effort to throw ShadowBlade off balance, ShadowBlade started to fall backwards, pulling T-Bone down with him. ShadowBlade planted his feet on T-Bone's stomach and pushed. T-Bone found himself releasing ShadowBlade's wrists and soaring over him into a pile of crates. Callie could see everything from where she was sitting. She felt completely helpless. I wish there was something I could do, she thought. Razor dived behind a forklift. Several arrows whizzed past the spot he had just been. He took some time to think. This is not working, he thought. She is too good a shot! It's like I'm fighting myself.... his thoughts trailed off for a second. That's it! "T-Bone! Come in," Razor's voice crackled in T-Bone's flight helmet. T-Bone smacked the triangular button on his helmet. "I'm a little busy here buddy," he responded. He threw up his paws and caught the crate that ShadowBlade threw at him. "We need to change our fighting style!" Razor shouted. Razor looked up to see ShadedRose on his side of the forklift. "Gotcha," she said coldly. She let loose an arrow straight for him. Razor threw up his arm with the glovatrix and activated his titanium shield. The arrow snapped in half as the shield enclosed in front of him. "Hmmm... Impressive," she cooed. "What do you mean? Changing my fighting style?!" T-Bone shouted. He tossed the crate at ShadowBlade, who simply sliced it in half with his sword. "When are you going to start fighting, Swat Kat?" ShadowBlade challenged. Callie heard what T-Bone had shouted. Change his fighting style. she thought. I get it! ShadedRose has never tried attacking Razor directly and ShadowBlade has not tried to attack T-Bone indirectly. If they change the way they fight, it will catch their enemies in their weaknesses. "T-Bone!" she shouted. "Try using your glovatrix!" T-Bone heard what Callie had shouted to him. Now, he understood. ShadowBlade charged him. "I have you, Swat Kat." ShadowBlade swung. His blade only caught air. T-Bone had somersaulted backwards out of the way. He then did a double back-flip over a small pile of crates. T-Bone readied his glovatrix. Razor got to his feet. He had only a few seconds to get in close on her. ShadedRose readied her crossbow. Razor started to charge her. "He's crazy!?" she exclaimed. She hopped to the side as Razor charged past her. Razor expected this and took his chances. He retaliated with a roundhouse kick. ShadedRose's crossbow flew out of her paws and landed a short distance away. She barely had time to think when Razor's fist met her midsection. She slumped to the floor, gasping for breath. "Stop hiding, Swat Kat!" ShadowBlade shouted as he jumped over the crates after T-Bone. Once again, he swung his sword and met only nothingness. He turned in surprise to see T-Bone jump from the right-side of the crates. "You're going down." T-Bone fired an octopus missile. ShadowBlade stood up and started to swing. He realized all to quickly that he had not been fast enough. The octopus missile hit him and pinned him against the wall. His sword fell to the ground with a loud clang. Razor tied ShadedRose's paws together behind her back. He led her over to where T-Bone and ShadowBlade were. Callie began to climb down from her tower of crates. "You did it!" she shouted. "I knew you would." She met up with them. "Now," T-Bone began. "Do we pass your test?" He waited for a response. "We were the ones being tested," ShadedRose began. "We were the ones who failed. But, be warned, Swat Kats. We do not give up easily." "That's a brave statement from somebody with her paws tied," Callie shot back. "They are?" ShadedRose pulled her paws from behind her back, the ropes falling to the floor. "We will meet again, honorable Swat Kats." She threw a bauble and a shuriken at them. "Look out!" Razor shouted. Razor pulled Callie out of the way and T-Bone jumped to the side. The bauble busted open at their feet, producing a horrible cloud of smoke. Coughing and sputtering, T-Bone and Callie began to wave off the smoke. It cleared quickly. T-Bone did not like what he saw or actually what he didn't see. Both ninjas were gone! Meanwhile, Razor pulled the shuriken from his arm. He winced at the pain. He had taken the hit when he pulled Callie out of the way. He put it in his flight suit pocket. He flinched again when ran his paw over the wound. "What a nice parting gift," he said aloud. T-Bone and Callie turned to face him. "MegaKat City gets more and more dangerous everyday," Callie said. "But, I know the city is in good paws with you guys around." She gave T-Bone a hug. Razor shied away a little when she tried to give him one. She grasped the wound on his arm. Razor did not make a sound or flinch. She pulled away from him. "Thanks, guys." As they were flying back to Callie's apartment, Callie looked out the cockpit window. "You know I thought my vacation was pretty bad," she said. "Then, I realized I got to spend most of it with you guys." "And..." T-Bone said. "Don't press your luck," came the response. The astonished look on his face caused both Callie and Razor to burst out laughing. They dropped Callie off at her apartment. She waved good-bye and turned to go down the stairs. She wiped her brow with her paw as she entered her apartment. That's when she truly noticed that there was something on her paw. She looked down and there was blood on her paw! Ohh, she thought. I hope they are okay.
