Swat Kats "Letters From The Edge" By: Storm T. Furlong ( Storm Denise.) E-mail:: VampireStorm@aol.com, or PFCHoltR@aol.com Summary:: A few letters between Turri and Chance, and a dinner Chance, Jan. 11, 1997 I don't know what I can say to you. Last night we had dinner with Callie and Jonathan. I've been thinking about what they said. About seeing something between us that we aren't seeing. Do you know what they mean? We both admitted that we feel * something * between us. But what is it? I know that my heart beats fast when I see you. I'm always thinking of you when you're not around. But anyways, I got fired the other day. Feral's superior didn't want me around. Because I didn't go though the Boot Camp. I was so mad that I busted that large bay window Feral has behind his desk. They sentenced me to work with you and Jake in the yard. It doesn't bother me that much. But I know Jake doesn't like me. That's the only thing that worries me. You helped me though my therapy and you were there when my health wasn't the best. Now you're going to be seeing me every day. Can you handle that? Am I someone that you can stand to look at 12 hours a day? I'm worried that once you see me more then a few minutes you won't like what you see. But before you say the same, you are a great tom-kat; every time you crack a joke or something I find myself chuckling even when I feel depressed. You just have that ability to make me feel better. How is that? I've been trying to figure that out for months. I'm going to go to sleep now. Sweet dreams, Chance. Turri Turri, Jan. 12, 1997 I think you worry just too much. This letter-writing is such a great idea. At least, I think so. Jake doesn't like you because for such a long time he and I were the close friends. He's a jealous kat, that's all. Someday he'll get used to it all. Besides, he doesn't control you or me. Don't let him hold you back. I do agree about the something between us. I know how you feel. It could be anything... Lust, infatuation or even just puppy love. I don't know. I didn't know that I could be so humorous to you. I'm glad you'll be working in the yard with us. Somehow I doubt that you're going to be a pest. I think that we'll actually grow closer. I have an idea. How about dinner? I know of this place right outside town. They have the best sea food. Just you and me. We can talk about the dinner with Callie and Jon and maybe about us. That is, only if you want to.. I'd understand it if you don't want anything to do with me. I'm used to it. Nite, Turri Chance * The Dinner * Turri paced around the main doors of "Shade Katnners", looking at a dainty watch she wore on her left wrist. The hostess looked at her. Turri smiled. "That is such a beautiful dress, where did you get it?" She asked. "I made it," Turri said, playing with one of her sheer sleeves. "It's very cool-looking," she said. Then Turri spotted Chance. He wore a nice dress suit, which was dark blue. He smiled at her as he stepped in. "You're early," Turri said. "I work to impress," he said. " Table for three." "Three?" Turri asked. Chance sighed and looked back at Jake, who was dressed just as nicely. Turri nodded. They were seated at a table near the large scenic windows. The view was breathtaking. A waiter came over to the table. "What shall you all like to drink?" he asked. "White wine, preferably an old vintage," Chance said. Jake smirked, "Good call," he said. "Turri," Chance said, "You aren't mad, are you?" "Nah," Turri said, "Maybe this is the chance for Jake here to actually start to like me." "Yeah," Jake said. "Maybe you'll discover I'm not such a bad kat after all." It was Turri's turn to smirk, "You, a bad kat? I wouldn't think such a thing!" she joked. The night wore on, the three laughed and talked nearly all night. The house band started to play a familiar song and Chance smiled at Turri. "That look is scaring me," she said. "Care to dance?" he asked. "Love to," she said. They got onto the dance floor and started to dance. The song made its way towards them. Turri knew the song well. "Have you ever loved somebody? So much that the earth moved? Have you ever loved somebody? That never knew?" The song summed her up so much that it hurt. She happened to glance over at Jake, who had this look of death on his face. Like he wanted to kill her. Turri's heart sank. Jake would be the one to ruin her happiness. Chance looked at her. "I noticed that too Turri. Just ingore it," he said. "That's easy for you, He's your friend," she said. "Not anymore, he's losing my friendship," he said. "Why?" she asked. "Because of you," he said. "he thinks you're going to kill me or hurt me." "I'd never do that," she said. "That's why I like you so much," he said. "Really?" She asked looking at him. "You're not kidding, are you?" "I don't kid about things like this." "Funny. I just was thinking about that." "Shall we give 'us' a try?" "Yeah." And so Their Relationship began. So long Kat fans...On Oct. 26, 1999 I leave for the USMC Boot camp. Wish me luck all!
