There's nothing like eating re-heated pizza at 3 in the morning while watching 'Twister'. Well-here is my next piece. I have tried not to make this look like a certain movie I mentioned, but it's a little hard to do so when you're basiclly doing almost the same thing and I have some long, hard-to- pronounce words in here, so I'm gonna say how to pronounce them as they are written. ============================================================================= Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, that they didn't stop to think if they should!- Ian Malcolm, Jurassic Park ============================================================================= Chance Furlong and Jake Clawson walked out of the MegaKat City Ultraplex. "Oh man. That movie was the coolest!" Chance said. "I liked the part where the T-Rex ate that lawyer guy!" Jake laughed. "You would. I kind of liked the ending. What about that Muldoon guy? Didn't he remind you of Feral?" Chance nodded. They got into their pickup truck and drove off. Neither of them noticed a swirling cloud hovering over City Hall... Felina Feral sat behind her desk, eating a jelly donut while reading a new Enforcer's personal file. There had been two new enrollments in the past three days. The first was this skinny wimp named Joseph. Her Uncle loathed him, because he asked one too many questions. The second was supposed to arrive in a few minutes. There came a knock at her door. An arrogant, egotistical Enforcer named Steele walked in. He had once been the lt. but had been demoted to a major. "That new Enforcer just arrived," he announced. "Send her in," Felina said, putting the rest of her donuts away. A tall, thin she-kat walked in. "G'day, I'm Nicole Riley," she said with an Australian accent as she shook Felina's paw. She was grey with violet eyes, and red hair that reached to her shoulders. Felina smiled. "Welcome to the Enforcers, Nicole." Jake and Chance had just pulled into the garage, when their alarm went off. Chance answered the call. "Hello, Mrs. Briggs. What seems to be the problem?" "The PastMaster is back, and he seems to be conjuring up a time vortex over city hall." "We'll be right there," Chance said. "Let's go buddy!" Felina and Nicole looked out of the office window at the vortex. "Is the weather in this country always like this?" Nicole asked. There was a knock on the door and Commander Feral walked in. "That little weasel PastMaster is back," he said. "Both of you better suit up and meet me on the landing strip in five minutes." "Looks like you're gonna see some action on the first day," Felina said. T-Bone and Razor flew towards City Hall. They could clearly see the demented little troll shooting beams of magic at passing Enforcer choppers. The PastMaster smiled when he saw the TurboCat approach. He raised his watch to the center of the vortex and fired. The magic started to pull the jet into the swirling cloud. T-Bone fired all the thrusters, but were flung into the portal when an Enforcer chopper struck them on the wing. "Not again!" T-Bone moaned. Callie watched from her office window as the TurboCat and two Enforcer choppers were sucked into the portal. Now who would save MegaKat City? The three vehichles crash-landed in an open field surrounded by ferns and palm trees. Razor opened the canopy and got out to get a better look around. One of the Enforcer choppers had landed on it's nose. Felina hopped down from it and dusted herself. "Are you okay?" Razor asked as he walked over to the chopper. "Yeah, but I don't think I can say the same for our chopper." Another Enforcer stood in the doorway, looking down at the ground. Razor took her paw and helped her down. "Thank you," she said, smiling at him. "You're welcome," he replied as he watched Commander Feral, Steel and a kat who looked like an older feline version of Steve Urkel, walk over. Felina introduced everyone to Nicole. She smiled politely and shook everyone's paw. T-Bone walked over after checking the jet for any external damages. "Does anyone have any idea when we are?" Feral looked at their surrondings. "My guess is in a jungle." He turned to Felina. "Let's check to see what damages we have." As soon as they left, the nerdy kat attacked. He walked over to Razor and violently shook his paw. "Hi! My name's Joseph. I'm a brand new Enforcer," he said very rapidly. "Are you really a SWATKat? What's it like to fly in you jet? Where'd you get those suits? Can I be a SWATKat?" Razor looked at T-Bone, then back to Joseph, and he smiled. "No hable ingles (Spanish for: I don't speak English)" Razor said. Nicole sat under the shade of a tree, watching the SWATKats trying to repair their jet. She hated to admit it, but she was starting to like the one they called Razor. The only problem was, he wasn't paying any attention to her. He was either too busy or he was talking to someone else. She sighed. The tree she was leaning against suddenly moved. She stood up and watched as the tree continued to shake. Nicole looked up, and gasped. She was staring up at a Brachiosaurus (Brack-e-o-sore-us). The Brachiosaur turned around and walked off deeper into the jungle. Nicole ran back to tell the others about the dinosaur. Felina dropped another piece of wood on the fire, hoping to keep any dinosaurs away. She shivered in the cold night air. Her Uncle had assigned her to first watch, which she loathed. She looked down at Nicole, who had fallen asleep next to Razor. Nicole had been the last to fall asleep. Felina's heart had almost stopped beating when she saw Nicole kiss Razor lightly on the cheek. She sighed and moved closer to the fire. So, she thought to herself, Razor has a secret admirer. Razor slowly opened his eyes. He groaned, wishing he could have his morning cup of coffee. T-Bone was awake and eating whatever they had for breakfast. Razor felt something laying on his side. He looked behind him, Nicole had her arm draped around him. She had a smile on her face that reminded him of a little kitten that used to live next door to him. Razor got up slowly, so he wouldn't wake her up. Steele and Joseph returned from their hunt for firewood. They returned empty handed. "Why don't you have any wood?" Felina asked. "Well," Steele mumbled. "There were these things, as big as tanks- with three things pointing out of their faces-" "Triceratops," Razor pointed out. "Whatever. But anyway, they were guarding the wood." "That's the stupidist thing I ever heard," Feral said. Steele frowned. "Hey, Joseph," Felina said, pointing to Nicole, "Wake her up will you?" Joe nodded. Feral glared at Steele. "I don't care if Godzilla is out there, go back there and get more wood!" "Um, Felina," Joe said. "Nicole won't wake up!" Felina moaned and walked over to the slumbering Enforcer. She noticed Nicole looked a little pale. Felina put her paw on Nicole's forehead. "She's burning up," Felina yelled to her Uncle. Feral examined Nicole. "I think we might have a little problem." That night, T-Bone was on first watch. Razor had fallen asleep holding Nicole in his arms. Nicole's fever had risen in the last few hours. Razor hadn't left her side since she had gotten sick. T-Bone smiled at his partner. A screech called out from the air. A Quetzacotalus (quet-zill-cot-a-lus) soared over the trees. T-Bone watched the dactyl as it disappeared into the night sky. He just hoped there weren't any Tyrannosaurs in the area. Razor yawned and opened his eyes. Nicole was curled up against him, snoring lightly. He stroked her red hair and sighed. She still had a fever, but it had gone down slowly. Nicole groaned and looked up at Razor. She smiled and fell asleep again, putting her arm around him. Razor closed his eyes and tried to get some more sleep. He woke again to find that everyone had left, except for T-Bone, who was trying to keep the fire going. He sighed and sat down next to Razor. "I ran system checks on the TurboCat. The radar is down, and we lost a carbine somewhere." Just great," Razor grumbled. "That's just what we need. We can't go anywhere without that carbine." "Everyone else is out looking for it. But even if they find it, it weighs half a ton." "I just hope they find it, or else we may never get out of here." Felina walked through the jungle, looking for the missing part. She looked at her watch, which read 4:00 pm. She was told to be back by 4:30. Felina was about to leave when something caught her eye. It was the gleam of metal coming from a nearby clearing. She parted a fern and saw the large carbine laying on it's side, only slightly damaged. "Bingo," she said to herself. A blood-curtling screech cried out from the clearing. Three Velociraptors (Vell-oss-ih-rap-tour)stepped out from behind a bush. They had orange and white pebbled skin with black markings. Large 6-inch razor-sharp claws protruded from their hindfeet. Felina watched as they stalked a herd of Triceratops. She decided it was time to make her exit. Feral glanced at his watch. It was 5:00, and Felina still hadn't returned. He started to pace back and forth. "Where is she? Where did she go? Shouldn't she be back by now? Are you going to go look for her? Why isn't anyone answering me? Doesn't anyone like me?" Joseph asked rapidly in an irratating voice. "Shut-up you twit!" Feral growled as he rubbed his forehead. "Where's an asprin when you need one?" he muttered under his breath. Steele stood up and cleared his throat. "Well, since the Lt. isn't here, I nominate myself to take over position until she returns." "You do anything of the sort and I'll throw you in with those two hotshots Furlong and Clawson!" Steele sat back down. "Nevermind," he mumbled. Feral looked over at Razor. "How's her fever?" "It's starting to go down," Razor replied, putting a wet cloth on her forehead. A twig snapped some distance away from their campsite. Razor cocked his ear towards the sound. "Did anyone hear that?" "Hear what?" T-Bone asked. The ground suddenly began to vibrate. Feral looked at Steele, who shrugged. The vibrations grew more violent. "Earthquake!" Joseph yelled, panicking. That's when Razor noticed their fatal mistake. "Put out the fire!" he yelled. "And hide!" T-Bone dumped some water on the fire. Feral and the others dived into a bush. A large creature stepped into the clearing. Razor could easily identify it as a Tyrannosaurus Rex. The T-Rex looked around the clearing. T-Bone watched from a nearby bush. Feral was crouched next to him and the other two Enforcers were cowering behind them. The T-Rex bent over and sniffed the ground. T-Bone realized something that almost made his heart stop. Razor was still leaning against the tree in the middle of the clearing, holding a very wide-eyed Nicole in his arms. T-Bone wished that the bit in the movie was true, that a T-Rex couldn't see you if you didn't move. But maybe, because it was night-the Rex might have a disadvantage. For a moment the Rex stood there, undecided. The Tyrannosaur definitely couldn't see well in the dark. T-Bone closed his eyes in relief. He looked back at Steele and Jospeh to make sure they weren't panicking. Feral tapped on his shoulder and pointed to the clearing. The Rex had it's head near the ground, walking closer and closer to Razor. T-Bone suddenly realized what it was doing...it could smell them... Razor's heart pounded wildly. The T-Rex was less than 5 feet away, and moving closer. He clutched Nicole tighter, who was trembling with fear. Razor closed his eyes, awaiting the inevitable. He felt a nudge on his leg. Slowly he opened his eyes. The Tyrannosaur was only inches, nuzzling his leg with it's snout. It raised it's head and stopped inches from his face. The Rex growled and shifted it's weight, bringing it's foot down almost on Razor's tail. His head suddenly shot up and he roared with pain. The Rex turned to face the other direction, almost whacking Razor with it's tail. Felina stod behind a tree, holding her gun in her paw. She fired again at the Rex, but it missed. Fortunately, the noise disturbed the Rex and it walked off in the opposite direction. Felina helped Razor to his feet. "Thanks, Lt." Razor said, his voice a little shaky. "No problem," she replied as she glanced at Nicole. "It looks like your girlfriend fainted." "She's not my girlfriend," he said coldly. "That's what they all say," she mocked as she helped Joseph out of the bush. Feral stood and brushed himself off. "And just where have you been?" "I took a little walk and found the missing carbine." "Now we can stop worrying about that," T-Bone said. "I wasn't finished." Felina continued. "Right now it's also serving as a Velociraptor condominuim." "Perfect" T-Bone grumbled. "Hey Razor, get some food from the chopper. We better eat it before any more dinos home in on it. Felina an I will try to revive Nicloe." Razor walked over to the chopper and rummaged to find all the food he could find. Joeseph offered to help carry the stuff back to camp. They picked up the food and headed back. "So what was it like being that close to a T-Rex? Were you scared? Why did Nicole faint? Are you in love with Nicole? Are you gonna marry her? Who is going to be at the wedding? Can I be an usher? How many people are you going to invite? Can I invite my mom? Is your cake going to be chocolate or vanilla? Can I-" "Look you little bug-eyed-creep!" Razor growled at him. "I am not going to marry Nicole! I don't even like her! I wish I had never even met her!" He stormed off, leaving Joseph for once, speechless. Joseph heard a noise behind him. Nicole was watching them. He watched as a tear rolled down her cheek...
