Summary: The SWAT Kats defeat – themselves?

Chapter One:

Razor was also weaving. Without their glovatrixes, it was going to be hard to avoid getting killed. Suddenly, a thought struck Razor. They were getting further away from the device they had planted. Crud.

“T-Bone, double back! We gotta get them closer again…”

“Uh, buddy? Sorry to say this, but that plan is the stupidest I’ve ever heard you come up with! Won’t that involve us getting closer?”

“Don’t worry, I have a plan…”

Chapter Two:

Commander Feral was on the ground, observing the spectacle above when his radio crackled to life.

“Hey, Feral, little help?”

“Razor…” Feral growled under his breath “What do you want?”

“We really need your help…”

“Why should I? You finally convince me to stay out of your affairs, and now you want me to get involved? Forget it…” Feral growled.

For years these vigilantes had stolen the glory from the enforcers who had worked hard (and done it legally) to bring in those enemies of Megakat City that the SWAT Kats could simply destroy with a fancy missile.

“Please, this is for the good of the city, and I really need your help…”

‘For the good of the city, he says,’ Feral thought.

Then another thought hit him. What could it hurt? It's not like the SWAT Kats had ever left the city in danger. Perhaps he did genuinely need help this time. Besides, it couldn’t hurt for the SWAT Kats to owe him a favour.

Feral grinned.

“Well, what do you want?” he snarled.

“Here’s my idea…”

Chapter Three:

The enforcer jet swooped low and landed on the building just in front of T-Bone. He leapt into the cockpit as the pilot leapt out.

“Thanks!”

“Just doing my job. Good luck!”

As T-Bone took off, a laser struck the enforcer in the chest, and he crumpled to the ground.

“Wow. I wonder how much they pay those guys. I hope it's more than me and Jake were on. I wouldn’t let them pay me peanuts if I thought that could happen to me… Ok, right. Can’t let it distract me. OK, when Razor contacted me over the radio, he said I should use the radar to find him…”

T-Bone turned on the radar and found Razor. He headed towards him, while he was also being pursued by his few jets.

He soon settled in to flying again. He relaxed and began to enjoy the feel of the jet. It was no Turbokat, but it was a jet at least.

He set down the jet near Razor and opened the canopy for him to jump in.

“Ok, T-Bone. Head back towards the device as fast as this thing will go.”

Chapter Four:

“Ok, now I’m going to build a small holoprojection device using the parts Feral got for me.”

“Feral?”

“Yeah.”

“Razor, how can you build something like that so fast?” asked T-Bone.

Razor looked at his partner for a moment, then replied, “Because, my dear kat, thanks to the lack of planning the author has done, this story is more riddled with plot holes than our fridge is riddled with mold.”

“Euw.”

“Exactly. This is now a desperate attempt to fill at least one of said plot holes. Now please, for both our sakes, stop exposing the authors' lack of talent and fly the plane.”

“Sorry,” replied T-Bone.

The two were brought back to their senses by a sudden jolt that sent a shock wave through their bodies. Apparently, the evil SWAT Kats and their buddies had locked on to their rear end.

“OK, let me get this straight. We’re now going fly back over the device we are planning to use to stop the other jets, and what do we do when we get caught in the jolt?”

“Well, T-Bone, we’ll just have to eject…” Razor replied, suddenly looking downwards. He then remained silent.

“Razor? Are you OK?” T-Bone was silent for a moment. “Look, is this about last time? Because that really wasn’t your fault.”

Razor sighed.

“Aw, c’mon, it was one time.”

“I s’pose…”

“Besides, you didn’t make these seats…”

Razor's head jerked up, and he shot his partner a dirty look. “Gee, thanks, buddy…” he sarcastically replied.

Razor soon forgot T-Bone’s remarks and returned to his device. All the components had been provided for him; all he had to do was put it together.

Chapter Five:

“Ok, T-Bone. Land the jet on this building here. I’ll tell you when to take off again.”

The jet landed, and Razor jumped out. He headed for the nose cone with his holoprojection unit and began the process of carefully fixing it to the outside of the jet, and wiring it into his control panel.

When he was done, he headed back to his seat.

“Ok, T-Bone, fly!”

The jet took off again as Razor began to type a few things into his panel.

“Oh, crud, Razor! There’s another enforcer jet in front of ours, with, um, us in the cockpit…” T-Bone panicked, then caught on to Razor's idea. “That’s that projector at work, isn’t it?”

“Yeah, and a great job it's doing too. Now if I just adjust this little…”

The jet in front of them put on a burst of speed, and the evil jets followed.

“Why aren’t they following us any more?”

“The other jet got their attention. That, and I’m blocking their instruments. They can still see us, but they think we’re the hologram, and the other jet is the real thing. All their readings say the other jet is real, and we’re not. ”

Chapter Six:

The holographic jet shot off towards the building on which the bomb sat, the dark jets following. Once it reached its destination, it began to circle.

This would have seemed peculiar to onlookers, had it not been for Razor's excellent piloting skills. It would have looked strange, but with Razor's skill, it seemed to simply be taunting the enemy jets. It turned and hovered above the bomb as the other jets homed in for the kill.

“Um, Razor?” asked T-Bone “Isn’t the bomb detonating a little too late?”

“Oh, crud!” came Razor's startled reply “Wait! I can do this…”

“Do what?”

“The timer must have failed. I’ll have to detonate the bomb remotely, and quickly too, because it looks like our friends are getting tired of hanging around.”

Just as Razor spoke, one of the jets shot forward, straight through the hologram.

“Crud! Looks like they thought that if they couldn’t hit the jet with their lasers, they might as well ram it.”

“Uh oh, um, bud? Looks like they’re catching on…”

“I’ve almost got it, T-bone! Nearly… nearly………………T-Bone! Eject! Now!”

The two shot to safety, just as a blinding flash of light filled the entire area from the ground right into the sky.
